FFH (band)
FFH, also known as Far from Home, are an American contemporary Christian band from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Formed in 1993, FFH released six independent projects before being signed by Essential Records. Since then, they have released seven studio albums, as well as a "greatest-hits" album. Background The group formed as Four for Harmony, an a cappella group. Over time they developed a vocal acoustic pop style, similar to that of Avalon, and changed their name to Far from Home. That name was being used by a secular duo and they became known as FFH. FFH sang on ''Shine Your Light'' with Nicole Nordeman and "Hide Me in Your Heart" on ''City On a Hill: Sing Alleluia'' (2002), and on "Table of the Lord" with Paul Coleman Trio on ''City On a Hill: The Gathering'' (2003), and "Where Are You" and "Merciful Rain" on ''City On a Hill: Songs of Worship and Praise'' (2000). The Hammond organ is an electric organ invented by Laurens Hammond and John M. Hanert and first manufactured in 1935. Multiple models have been produced, most of which use sliding #Drawbars, drawbars to vary sounds. Until 1975, Hammond organs generated sound by creating an electric current from rotating a metal tonewheel near an electromagnetic pickup, and then strengthening the signal with an Power amplifier, amplifier to drive a speaker enclosure, speaker cabinet. The organ is commonly used with the Leslie speaker. Around two million Hammond organs have been manufactured. A Dove Award is an accolade by the Gospel Music Association (GMA) of the United States to recognize outstanding achievement in the Christian music industry. The awards are presented annually. The Nashville String Machine
Nashville String Machine is a musical collective comprising session musicians, based in Nashville, Tennessee, United States. Members of the group have been credited on records dating from 1972 to the present, although the group was formally formed as "The Nashville String Machine" in 1981. The group was formed by violinist and concertmaster Carl J. Gorodetzky (born 1936/7 in Pennsylvania) and his wife (also violinist) Carol W. Gorodetzky (b. 1937 in Pennsylvania). They oversee the contracting of arrangers, players and studio support as needed; their available supply of potential orchestra members maximizes at 80. Mandolin
A mandolin ( it, mandolino ; literally "small mandola") is a stringed musical instrument in the lute family and is generally plucked with a pick. It most commonly has four courses of doubled strings tuned in unison, thus giving a total of 8 strings, although five (10 strings) and six (12 strings) course versions also exist. There are of course different types of strings that can be used, metal strings are the main ones since they are the cheapest and easiest to make. The courses are typically tuned in an interval of perfect fifths, with the same tuning as a violin (G3, D4, A4, E5). Dale Oliver is an American music composer, guitarist and producer, who is signed to Impact Wrestling, where he is the head of Impact Wrestling Music. Oliver was formerly a guitarist for the American country music group Blackhawk, Reba McEntire, Steven Curtis Chapman and Geoff Moore and the Distance. Lincoln Brewster (born July 30, 1971) is an American contemporary Christian musician and worship pastor. As a guitarist, singer, and songwriter, Brewster became a sought-after session guitarist in the early 90s. Brewster is the former senior worship pastor at Bayside Church in Granite Bay, California. Tony Wood is an American songwriter working primarily in the contemporary Christian music (CCM) genre. He has received five Gospel Music Association Dove Awards for songwriting. Early and personal life Wood was raised in Chase City, Virginia and graduated from Bluestone High School ( Skipwith, VA) and Averett College (now University in Danville, VA.) Aaron Jeoffrey Benward (born September 13, 1973) is an American singer-songwriter, actor, film/TV producer and music supervisor. Life and career Benward is the son of Candice and Jeoffrey Benward and has two siblings, Sareece and Colin. In high school, he left his mark as an All-State football, basketball and soccer player and was named the U.S. Army Scholar/Athlete of the Year.
