Still Ghetto
''Still Ghetto'' is the second studio album by American R&B singer Jaheim. It was released by Divine Mill Records and Warner Bros. Records on November 5, 2002 in the United States. Released to favorable reviews, it debuted at number eight on the US ''Billboard'' 200 and number three on the ''Billboard'' Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, with first-week sales of 111,000 copies, eventually reaching platinum for selling a million domestic copies. The album spawned the hit single " Fabulous" featuring Tha' Rayne as well as the single "Put That Woman First" which entered the top 20 of the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100, reaching number 20. The track, "Everywhere I Am" is dedicated to the memory of the singer's parents, who died before he rose to fame. Jaheim H. Hoagland (born May 26, 1978), known mononymously as Jaheim, is an American Contemporary R&B, R&B singer. He was signed by Naughty by Nature's Kaygee to Divine Mill Records in 2000, and released his debut album ''Ghetto Love (album), Ghetto Love'' in 2001. His second effort, ''Still Ghetto'' (2002), contains the hit singles "Put That Woman First" (2003) and "Fabulous" (2003), both of which achieved platinum success. Darren Lighty
Darren Lighty (born April 6, 1969 in Paterson, New Jersey) is an American hip-hop and R&B record producer and songwriter. Lighty got his initial start in the industry as part of the group The Flex, which also included his brother Cliff Lighty and Eric Williams. They were discovered by hip hop producer Marley Marl, who had them sing the hooks on songs he produced for LL Cool J, Heavy D. & the Boyz, Craig G and Intelligent Hoodlum. The group disbanded before recording an album and the trio went their separate ways. Dinky Bingham (born Osborne Gould Bingham, Jr., 1963 in Jamaica, Queens, New York) is an American singer, musician, songwriter, producer, and engineer. Life and career She was born Bessie White in New Bern, North Carolina, and later raised in Brooklyn, New York City. In the mid-1950s, she began singing with a quartet called Three Guys and a Doll. Mary Brown is an American singer-songwriter best known for co-writing Destiny's Child " No, No, No", as well as Jaheim's " Fabulous". Brown was originally a member of girl-group trio Abstrac, signed to Reprise Records in the 1980s, which evolved into new jack swing duo M&M signed to Atlantic Records in 1990 as a result of shifting group membership. John Whitehead (singer)
John Cavadus Whitehead (July 10, 1948 – May 11, 2004) was an American singer and songwriter. He was best known as one of the key members of the Philadelphia International record label, and was one-half of the successful team of McFadden & Whitehead with Gene McFadden. McFadden and Whitehead wrote many hits for Philadelphia International artists such as The O'Jays and Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes, and had their own hit with "Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now" in 1979. He was the father of both members of mid 1990s duo the Whitehead Brothers, and received an LL.D. from Bates College. Death On May 11, 2004, John Cavadus Whitehead was fatally shot, possibly in a case of mistaken identity, while fixing a car outside his home in Philadelphia. Gene McFadden (January 28, 1949 – January 27, 2006) was an American singer, songwriter, and record producer. He is best known as one of the key members of the Philadelphia International record label, and was one-half of the successful team of McFadden & Whitehead with John Whitehead.
