Stig-Göran Johansson (18 July 1943 – 20 April 2002) was a Swedish professional ice hockey player. He competed as a member of the Sweden men's national ice hockey team at the 1972 Winter Olympics held in Japan. Winger, in the game of ice hockey, is a forward position of a player whose primary zone of play is along the outer playing areas. They typically flank the centre forward. Originally the name was given to forward players who went up and down the sides of the rink. Wingers generally have the least defensive responsibilities out of any position on the ice, however they are still tasked with defensive duties such as forechecking duties or covering the point in the defensive zone. The men's ice hockey tournament at the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo, Japan, was the 12th Olympic Championship. Games were held at the Makomanai Ice Arena and at the Tsukisamu Indoor Skating Rink. The Swedish Hockey Hall of Fame was created 2011 to honor those individuals who have contributed to Swedish ice hockey.
