"Sticky" is a song by the American rock group, the Maine. It is their first and lead single off their eighth studio album '' XOXO: From Love and Anxiety in Real Time'' released on March 19, 2021. As of 2022, it is their highest-charting single. The song peaked at number 16 on the ''Billboard'' Alternative Airplay chart and at number 32 on the Rock Airplay chart. Background In an interview with ''Billboard'' magazine, lead singer John O'Callaghan revealed he began working on the song in January 2020. The song was co-written by Andrew Goldstein. The Maine (band)
The Maine is an American rock band from Tempe, Arizona. Formed in 2007, the group consists of lead vocalist, guitarist and pianist John O'Callaghan, lead guitarist Jared Monaco, bass guitarist Garrett Nickelsen, drummer Patrick Kirch, and rhythm guitarist Kennedy Brock. The band is joined by touring member Adam Simons, as of 2018, who plays keys, rhythm and lead guitar as well as percussion. Their first release, the '' Stay Up, Get Down'' extended play, was released in 2007, followed by the five-song EP, '' The Way We Talk'', on December 11, 2007. Andrew Scott Goldstein (born March 25, 1983 in Milton, Massachusetts) is the first American male team-sport professional athlete to be openly gay during his playing career. He came out publicly in 2003 and was drafted by his hometown team, the Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse, in 2005. Goldstein played goaltender for the Long Island Lizards from 2005 to 2007, appearing in two games in 2006. The band preceded the release of the album with additional singles "April 7th", "Lips", and "Pretender".
