Steven Hughes
Steven Jay Hughes (February 12, 1954 – February 18, 2000) was an American artist for the Chaos! Comics company. Hughes provided the art for many of the company's comics, including ''Lady Death'', ''Evil Ernie'', and the short-lived superhero series ''Detonator'' . He also helped to create the signature look of these characters. Biography Inspired by EC comics such as ''Tales from the Crypt'', and especially EC artist Wally Wood, Hughes began as an artist for various titles from Aircel Comics. Chaos! Comics
Chaos! Comics was a comic book publisher that operated from 1993 until 2002, mostly focusing on horror comics. Their titles included ''Lady Death'', ''Purgatori'', ''Evil Ernie'', ''Chastity'', ''Jade'', '' Bad Kitty'', and ''Lady Demon''. Chaos! creators included Brian Pulido, Steven Hughes, Al Rio, Mike Flippin, Justiniano, and Hart D. Fisher. Chaos also published licensed comics for the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE) and several bands. History Chaos was founded in 1993 in Scottsdale, Arizona, and published its first title that same year. Writer Brian Pulido was the company's president. The company dealt with a copyright infringement accusation in 1997, when horror writer Nancy A. Collins claimed they'd based the Chastity character and storyline on her character Sonja Blue. Lady Death
Lady Death is a fictional goddess appearing in American comic books published by Coffin Comics. Created by Brian Pulido, Lady Death first appeared in ''Evil Ernie'' #1 in December 1991. Lady Death then reappeared in the ''Evil Ernie: The Resurrection'' miniseries published by Pulido under his now-defunct company Chaos! Comics in 1994. The character was also the subject of a full-length animated feature film released in July 2004 by ADV Films. Incarnations of the character have been illustrated by such comic book artists as Steven Hughes, Mike Deodato, Jr., Romano Molenaar, Dheeraj Verma and Ivan Reis. Evil Ernie, an undead psychotic killer, is a fictional supervillain created by writer Brian Pulido and artist Steven Hughes in 1991 and originally published by Eternity Comics. The imprint shifted hands in 1993 to Chaos! Comics and then Devil's Due Publishing in 2005. ''Evil Ernie'' is currently published by Dynamite Entertainment, which purchased the Chaos! Comics imprint. ''Tales from the Crypt'' was an American bi-monthly horror comic anthology series published by EC Comics from 1950 to 1955, producing 27 issues (the first issue with the title was #20, previously having been ''International Comics'' (#1–#5); ''International Crime Patrol'' (#6); ''Crime Patrol'' (#7–#16) and ''The Crypt of Terror'' (#17–#19) for a total of 46 issues in the series). Wally Wood
Wallace Allan Wood (June 17, 1927 – November 2, 1981) was an American comic book writer, artist and independent publisher, widely known for his work on EC Comics's titles such as ''Weird Science (comic), Weird Science'', ''Weird Fantasy'', and ''Mad (magazine), MAD Magazine'' from its inception in 1952 until 1964, as well as for ''T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents'', and work for Warren Publishing's ''Creepy (magazine), Creepy''. Aircel Comics
Aircel Comics (Aircel Publishing) was a comic book publisher founded by Barry Blair, in Ottawa, Ontario in 1985. In 1988, it merged with American publisher Eternity Comics, itself an imprint of Malibu Comics, and in the late 1980s was taken over by Malibu before ceasing publication in 1994. It was best known as the original publisher of '' The Men in Black'', a comic book which was later adapted into a media franchise. Aircel blended historical and futuristic fantasy from different cultures as the underlying theme for most of its comic series. It featured high-quality colour covers with black-and white interiors. Cancer is a group of diseases involving abnormal cell growth with the potential to invade or spread to other parts of the body. These contrast with benign tumors, which do not spread.
