Steven Gluzband
Steven Alan Gluzband (born July 27, 1952, Boston) is an American latin jazz trumpeter based in New York City. Biography Steve Gluzband was born in Roxbury, Massachusetts to Frank and Rita Gluzband. His father's family had emigrated from Havana, Cuba whereas his mother's family had been in Boston since the 1880s. At age twelve, Gluzband began playing the accordion and was soon earning money as a solo act, but switched to trumpet at age 14 due to his growing interest in jazz. Gluzband graduated from the prestigious Boston Latin School and received a bachelor's degree from Boston's Berklee School of Music, where he studied with swing trumpet legend Lennie Johnson (Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Quincy Jones). Juan Pablo Knipping Pacheco (25 March 1935 – 15 February 2021), known as Johnny Pacheco, was a Dominican musician, arranger, composer, bandleader, and record producer who in the 1970s became one of the leading exponents of salsa as well in the late 1950s called the pachanga, a blend of Cuban rhythms and Dominican merengue, which propelled him to worldwide fame and had an important role in the evolution of Latin music. As the founder and musical director of Fania Records, Pacheco became a leading figure in the New York salsa scene in the 1960s and 1970s. He popularized the use of the term "salsa" and established the Fania All-Stars to showcase the leading artists of the genre. ''Road Rules'' is an MTV reality show that was a sister show of the network's flagship reality show, ''The Real World''. The series debuted on July 19, 1995, and ended on May 9, 2007. This allowed ''Road Rules'' a total of 14 seasons and 12 years on the air. The series followed five to six strangers, between the ages of 18 and 24, stripped of their money and restricted to a life in an RV, traveling from location to location.
