Steve Way (born 6 July 1974) is a British long-distance runner. He is the holder of the British 100 km record, after winning the 2014 British Championship in a time of 6:19:20 at the age of 39. He only began running seriously in 2007 to overcome lifestyle-related health issues, when he weighed over 100 kg. , he has run the London Marathon in under 2:20 four times, breaking the Commonwealth Games qualifying time of 2:17 for the first time in 2014. He represented England at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, coming in 10th overall, first for England, setting a new British veterans record with a personal best of 2:15:16. Following his 2014 performances, the media has lauded him as the 100 kg, 20-a-day man turned elite athlete. IAU 100 Km World Championships
The IAU 100 km World Championships have been held annually since 1987, at different locations, and is organized by the International Association of Ultrarunners (IAU). Comrades Marathon
The Comrades Marathon is an ultramarathon of approximately which is run annually in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa between the cities of Durban and Pietermaritzburg. It is the world's largest and oldest ultramarathon race. The direction of the race alternates each year between the "up" run (87 km) starting from Durban and the "down" run (now 90.184 km) starting from Pietermaritzburg. The 2019 field was capped at 25,000 runners, and the entry process closed after one week. Derek John Hawkins (born 29 April 1989) is a British distance runner. He competed in the marathon at the 2016 Summer Olympics and placed 114th. Personal life Hawkins was born on 29 April 1989. His younger brother Callum is also a long-distance runner. In addition to his training schedule he worked part-time in a local supermarket. In 2016 he and Callum launched Hawkins Running, an online coaching service for distance runners. Athletics Hawkins won the Scottish cross country championships in 2011 and 2012.
