Steve Shelton
Steve Shelton (born May 16, 1949) is an American former racing driver from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He raced in the SCCA/ECAR Formula Atlantic Championship from 1985 to 1990. He won in his first start which was that particular incarnation of the Atlantic series' first race. He captured five race wins and won the 1988 championship. Shelton still holds the record for most pole positions in Formula Atlantic history with 14. The Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) is a non-profit American automobile club and sanctioning body supporting road racing, rallying, and autocross in the United States. Formed in 1944, it runs many programs for both amateur and professional racers. Formula Atlantic is a specification of open-wheel racing car developed in the 1970s. It was used in professional racing through the IMSA Atlantic Championship until 2009 and is currently primarily used in amateur racing through Sports Car Club of America Formula Atlantic. The Atlantic Championship is a formula race car series with races throughout North America. It has been called Champ Car Atlantics (after its former name), Toyota Atlantics (due to the series' previous history of using Toyota-powered engines), or just Atlantics or Formula Atlantic, although the latter two terms risk confusion with the Sports Car Club of America's amateur Formula Atlantics division. Calvin Fish (born 22 July 1961 in Norwich) is a British television commentator for NBC Sports and a former racing driver. Fish began his career in karts at 13. He then moved to Formula Ford in 1979 at age 18 and then British Formula Three. He then came to the United States and competed in various classes of SCCA competition as well as IMSA GT. He was the 1987 Formula Atlantic champion and then made 14 starts in the Indy Lights series. He returned to sports cars. He was the GTO class winner at the 12 Hours of Sebring and 24 Hours of Daytona in 1990. Joseph Oliver "Jocko" Cunningham (born October 30, 1950) is a former racing driver who competed in the SCCA/ECAR Formula Atlantic series from 1986 to 1990. He finished second in the championship in 1988 and won the championship in 1989. Among his 7 race victories was the series' first oval race on the Milwaukee Mile in 1988.
