Stephen Murphy is an American comic book writer and editor known for his work on the ''Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'' series. With Michael Zulli, he was co-creator of the critically acclaimed 1980s independent comic ''The Puma Blues''. Education Murphy graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a BA in Communication Studies. Career Murphy wrote ''The Puma Blues'', which ran from 1986–1989, first published by Aardvark One International and later by Mirage Studios. In 1988, Murphy was an initial signatory of the Creator's Bill of Rights. Murphy's relationship with Mirage (operated by ''TMNT'' creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird) led to him coming on as a staff member at the studio, where he eventually became Managing Editor and Creative Director. Stephen Joseph Murphy III (born September 23, 1962) is a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Education Murphy was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in economics with a minor in English from Marquette University in 1984 and a Juris Doctor from Saint Louis University School of Law in 1987. During his time at Saint Louis University School of Law, Murphy edited the law review, served on the Moot Court Board, and won the White Family Fellowship in Public Law. He graduated from St. Louis University High School in 1980. Stephen James Murphy (born 11 December 1981) is a former professional ice hockey goaltender born in Dundee, Scotland, United Kingdom. Murphy began playing ice hockey at the very young age of 5. He made his first professional appearances at the age of 16 with the Paisley Pirates, a team then icing in the BNL. Murphy made two appearances for the Pirates during the 1997/98 season before moving on to the Fife Flyers. Whilst in Fife, Murphy helped the Flyers win the Scottish Cup. He established himself as the Flyers' first choice goaltender despite his young age and in the 1998/99 season recorded a respectable GAA of 3.61 and a save percentage of .918. In 1999, at the age of 17, Murphy became the goaltender for the Great Britain National Team and played on five occasions for them in the World Junior Championships, proving himself to be a reliable last line of defence. Stephen Murphy (born 1996) is an Irish hurler who plays as a goalkeeper for the Kerry senior team. Born in Causeway, County Kerry, Murphy first played competitive hurling during his schooling at Causeway Comprehensive School. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of sixteen when he first linked up with the Kerry minor team before later joining the under-21 side. He made his senior debut during the 2015 league. Murphy quickly became a regular member of the starting fifteen and has won one Christy Ring Cup medal. At club level Murphy plays with Causeway. Stephen Murphy (born 1986) is an Irish hurler who plays as a right corner-back for the Wexford senior team. Murphy began his inter-county career as a Gaelic footballer with the Tipperary senior team during the 2005 championship. He spent four seasons with the team, winning a Tommy Murphy Cup medal during that time. Murphy later switched codes and made his first appearance for the Wexford hurling team during the 2012 championship. Murphy (born 1957) is an American retired federal agent of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) who, along with Javier Peña, was one of the lead investigators in the manhunt of Colombian drug lord and leader of the Medellín Cartel, Pablo Escobar. Biography Murphy grew up in Princeton, West Virginia where he graduated from Princeton High School in 1974 and attended West Virginia University for a year.
