Steve Monkhouse
Steven Monkhouse (born 24 November 1962) is a former English cricketer. Monkhouse was a right-handed batsman who bowled left-arm fast-medium. He was born in Bury, Lancashire. Monkhouse made his debut in county cricket for Warwickshire in a first-class match against Surrey in the County Championship. He made a further first-class appearance the following season against Lancashire in the 1986 County Championship. He took 2 wickets in his 2 matches, at 47.50 a piece. He joined Glamorgan in 1987, making his first-class debut for the county against Oxford University. He made 7 further first-class appearances for Glamorgan, the last of which came against Yorkshire in the 1988 County Championship. In his 8 first-class matches, he took 16 wickets at a respectable average of 30.06, with best figures of 3/37. The National Counties, known as the Minor Counties before 2020, are the cricketing counties of England and Wales that do not have first-class status. The game is administered by the National Counties Cricket Association (NCCA), which comes under the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). Michael Cann
Michael James Cann (born 4 July 1965) is a former cricketer from Wales. He played first-class and one-day cricket for Glamorgan, Orange Free State, Griqualand West, Boland and the Impalas between 1986 and 1994. He was a left-handed batsman and right-arm offbreak bowler. A middle-order and opening batsman, Cann scored four first-class centuries, three of them in South Africa. His highest score was 141 (after scoring 80 in the first innings) when Griqualand West successfully chased 291 to defeat Boland in 1990–91. Cheshire County Cricket Club is one of twenty minor county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Cheshire. The team is currently a member of the Minor Counties Championship Western Division and plays in the MCCA Knockout Trophy. Hampshire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Hampshire. Hampshire teams formed by earlier organisations, principally the Hambledon Club, always had first-class status and the same applied to the county club when it was founded in 1863. Because of poor performances for several seasons until 1885, Hampshire then lost its status for nine seasons until it was invited into the County Championship in 1895, since when the team have played in every top-level domestic cricket competition in England.
