Steve Mason (1940 in Brooklyn, New York (state), New York – May 25, 2005) was a decorated United States Army captain, combat Vietnam veteran, veteran of the Vietnam War, critically acclaimed poet and the Poet Laureate of the Vietnam Veterans of America. Poetry Mason's poem "The Wall Within" was read at the 1984 dedication of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. and has the distinction of being the only American work of poetry on display at the war memorial in Hanoi. The author of four books, his poetry related to his experiences as a Captain (United States), captain in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. His work was hailed by veterans and their families nationwide. Diagnosed with lung cancer as a result of exposure to Agent Orange during the war, he became a participant and active advocate for the Oregon Death with Dignity Act, and spoke at the California State Assembly for a similar law proposed in that state. Steve Mason (ice Hockey)
Steve Mason (born May 29, 1988) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender who is currently the Director of Goalie Development for the Oakville Rangers of the Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA). During his National Hockey League career, he played for the Columbus Blue Jackets, Philadelphia Flyers and Winnipeg Jets. He was selected 69th overall in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft by the Blue Jackets. Playing major junior in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), Mason spent three seasons with the London Knights and Kitchener Rangers. In the 2006–07 season, he was named OHL Goaltender of the Year. He joined the Blue Jackets in 2008–09 and won the Calder Memorial Trophy as rookie of the year. Internationally, he won a gold medal with Team Canada at the 2008 World Junior Championships while earning tournament MVP and Best Goaltender honours. Steve Mason is an American broadcast personality based in Southern California since 1992. He is co-host with John Ireland of the "Mason and Ireland" weekday show on ESPN Los Angeles 710 KSPN and previously hosted the pregame show for the stations broadcasts of the Los Angeles Lakers team until 2010. Mason's career began on WGOR radio based in Toledo, Ohio. He first moved to Los Angeles to present in 1992, before moving to present '' The Late Late Radio Show'' between 1996 and 1998. Stephen Mason (15 April 1832 – 21 April 1890) was a Scottish Liberal politician. Family and business Mason was born at Kennoway in the Kingdom of Fife. He was educated locally in a private school. He married Martha Marshall of Machan in Lanarkshire. Mason was originally a Glasgow merchant, a sometime chairman of Glasgow Chamber of Commerce. Stephen Finney Mason FRS FRSC (6 July 1923 – 11 December 2007) was a British chemist and scientific historian. Biography Stephen Finney Mason was born in Leicestershire on 6 July 1923, the first child of Leonard Stephen Mason, a garage owner, and Chrissie Harriette (née Finney). He won a scholarship to Wyggeston Grammar School from 1933 to 1941; from there he gained an open scholarship to Wadham College, Oxford. He graduated with a first-class degree in 1945 and, in 1947, was awarded a DPhil on the biological activity of antimalarials, supervised by Dalziel Hammick. Mason had hoped to continue research in the chemistry department, but his attempt to find a position was blocked by Robert Robinson as the result of a dispute between Robertson and Hammick. Colonel Stevens Thomson Mason (December 29, 1760May 10, 1803) was an American lawyer, military officer and planter who served in the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. Mason was also a delegate in the Virginia General Assembly and a Republican U.S. Senator from 1794 to 1803.
