Steve Kittrell
Steve Kittrell (born November 1, 1948) is an American college baseball coach. Most recently, he was the head baseball coach at South Alabama. He owns a career record of 1052–644–1 in 25 seasons at South Alabama. He started his career as the head baseball coach at Niceville High School in Florida where he posted a 35–15 record in two seasons. From 1976 to 1978, he became the head baseball coach at University Military School in Mobile, Alabama, where he went 95–34. From 1979 to 1980, he coached at Enterprise State Junior College in Enterprise, Alabama, and had a two-season record of 52–30. In 1983, he coached at Spring Hill College, posting a 33–19 record. Kittrell played baseball at South Alabama, and played one year in the Boston Red Sox organization, reaching Class-A Winter Haven. Mark Calvi
Mark Calvi (born November 5, 1969) is an American college baseball coach, currently serving as head coach of the South Alabama Jaguars baseball team. He was named to that position prior to the 2012 NCAA Division I baseball season, 2012 season. Playing career Calvi lettered three times in baseball as a catcher at Nova Southeastern Sharks baseball, Nova Southeastern, and signed with the Seattle Mariners after completing his college career in 1992. He played the 1992 season with the Bellingham Mariners of the Class-A Northwest League. He then served the 1993 season as a scout for the Mariners. Coaching career After ending his time as a scout, Calvi accepted a position on the staff of FIU Panthers baseball, FIU, where he would remain for 11 years. Winter Haven Red Sox
The Winter Haven Red Sox were a minor league baseball team in the Florida State League (FSL), based in Winter Haven, Florida, from 1969–1992. Team history The franchise began in 1966 in Deerfield Beach, Florida, as the Deerfield Beach Sun Sox, a Class-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. However, on June 27, 1966, the team moved to Winter Haven becoming the Winter Haven Sun Sox. It was the city's first entry in Organized Baseball since the 1919 Bartow Polkers played part of their home schedule in Winter Haven. The Sun Sox were managed by Don Bacon and Bruce Andrew and had a 55–83 record overall. In 1967, the Sun Sox were renamed the Winter Haven Mets after their new parent club, the New York Mets.
