Steve Anderson (born 1963 in Springsure, Queensland, Australia) is a former Assistant Coach of Glasgow Rugby, now known as the Glasgow Warriors; a former rugby league coach of various clubs including assistant coach Australian Kangaroos; a former High Performance Manager of the Scottish and Irish Rugby Unions; and now head coach, High Performance, Rugby Australia Playing career Anderson was a professional rugby league footballer. Starting his career in the Queensland Rugby League Central Division he initially played in the Central Highlands Rugby League. He started with the Emerald Tigers, first in their Junior teams from 1976 to 1979 then progressed to their Senior teams from 1980 to 1982. Staying in the Queensland Central Division he then moved to the Fitzroy Sharks, staying there from January to August 1983. Anderson represented ROCKHAMPTON and Central Queensland City, 1983. Springsure
Springsure is a town and a Suburbs and localities (Australia), locality in the Central Highlands Region, Queensland, Australia. It is south of Emerald, Queensland, Emerald on the Gregory Highway. Queensland Rugby League Central Division
The Central Division of the Queensland Rugby League is responsible for the promotion, administration and facilitation of rugby league throughout most of regional Queensland. Regional areas include the Darling Downs, Wide Bay–Burnett, the South West, the Central West, and Fitzroy & Mackay. The Division was formed in 2010 as part of an amalgamation between the then Central, South West and Wide Bay divisions. Shortly after the amalgamation three Regions of Central Rugby League were established. Darryl Van Der Velde
Darryl van de Velde (born 3 October 1951) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer, coach and administrator. He played club football in Queensland for Souths and represented his state on one occasion in 1977. After playing he coached the Brisbane Rugby League premiership's Redcliffe side in 1986 and 1987, taking his club to consecutive grand finals. He was then replaced by Graham Olling. Van de Velde was part of an unsuccessful syndicate to form the first New South Wales Rugby League premiership club in Queensland. He then embarked on a coaching career in England with Castleford in 1988, Darryl van de Velde was the coach in Castleford's 12–28 defeat by Wigan in the 1991–92 Challenge Cup Final during the 1991–92 season at Wembley Stadium, London on Saturday 2 May 1992, in front of a crowd of 77,386, before leaving in 1993. Gordon Macpherson
Gordon Macpherson (born 9 October 1962) is a former New Zealand rugby union player. A lock, Macpherson represented Poverty Bay and Otago at a provincial level. He played a single match for the New Zealand national side, the All Blacks, a test against France in 1986. He moved from Otago in 1993 to Scotland where he was player-coach for West of Scotland. West of Scotland is an amateur rugby club based in Milngavie, near Glasgow. He was to marry a Scot and settle in Scotland. He became a forwards coach in Scotland. Kiwi Searancke (born c. 1952 in New Zealand) is a former rugby union player, and former head coach of Glasgow Rugby, now known as the Glasgow Warriors. He took over the club from Richie Dixon on 27 June 2002 when Dixon was appointed the SRU's Head of Coach Development. Central Queensland Capras are a semi-professional rugby league football club primarily based in Rockhampton, Queensland and representing Central Queensland. They currently play in the Queensland Cup, the premier rugby league competition in Queensland. From 2023, they will serve as one of the feeder clubs for the Dolphins. The club was founded in 1996 under the name Central Capras; in 2000 the name was changed to the Central Comets and, in 2011, it was reverted to the Central Queensland Capras. Winfield Cup
The Winfield Cup was an Australian rugby league trophy awarded to the winner of the New South Wales Rugby League premiership (NSWRL) Grand Final from 1982 to 1994, and then to the winner of the newly-founded Australian Rugby League (ARL) Grand Final in 1995. Despite its name, the trophy was retired after the 1995 ARL season when cigarette manufacturer Winfield was forced to withdraw their sponsorship, following the Australian Federal Government's introduction of the Tobacco Advertising Prohibition Act 1992 which outlawed tobacco advertising in sports in Australia.
