Stereo Fuse
Stereo Fuse is a post-grunge band from Dallas, Texas. Stereo Fuse was formed in 2000 after guitarist Jeff Quay and drummer Chad Jenkins were forced to disband their previous group. The two left their former lead singer after a show in Atlanta in 2000, when the frontman told a particularly offensive joke and the band was asked to leave the stage. Discovering singer-songwriter Colin Hill in Ft. Worth, the musicians formed Stereo Fuse and began writing and recording songs. In 2002, their cover of Material Issue's "Everything" became a most-requested song in the South and Midwest US, and went on to become a top-10 music video as well as entering the ''Billboard'' top 20 in 2003. The band toured with many well known acts, including Creed, Our Lady Peace, and Avril Lavigne. Post-grunge is a derivative of grunge that has a less abrasive or intense tone than traditional grunge. Originally, the term was used almost pejoratively to label mid-1990s rock bands such as Bush (British band), Bush, Candlebox and Collective Soul that emulated the original sound of grunge. In the late 1990s, post-grunge morphed into a more clearly defined style that married the sound and Aesthetics of music, aesthetic of grunge with a less intense and abrasive tone, rising to prominence that lasted in the 2000s. Wind-up Entertainment was an American independent record label founded by Alan and Diana Meltzer in 1997. It was based in New York City and was distributed by BMG Distribution. Wind-up's best-selling artists worldwide were Creed and Evanescence. History Wind-up Records was formed in 1997 by Alan Meltzer, former owner of CD One Stop, and his wife Diana Meltzer, following their 1996 purchase of Grass Records. The parent company Wind-up Entertainment also runs numerous publishing companies as well as a full-scale retail, online and tour merchandising company. The company's slogan was "Developing Career Artists". Some of the successful acts on the label included Evanescence, Creed, Seether and Finger Eleven. Material Issue
Material Issue was an American power pop trio from Chicago, Illinois. The band's trademark is pop songs with themes of love and heartbreak. A number of their song titles used girls' first names. History Material Issue was formed in 1985, led by frontman Jim Ellison, who played guitar, sang lead vocals, and wrote most of the band's songs. Ellison met bassist Ted Ansani while both were attending Columbia College Chicago in 1986. Drummer Mike Zelenko was found through an ad in the ''Illinois Entertainer'' later that year. In 1987, Material Issue released an eponymous EP on their own label, Big Block. The label operated out of Ellison's bedroom at his parents' home in Addison, Illinois, and was named for the big block engines of the 1970s muscle cars Ellison loved. Mark Slaughter
Mark Allen Slaughter (born July 4, 1964) is an American singer and musician, and one of the founders of the glam metal band Slaughter. Career Slaughter was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, on July 4, 1964. Before the formation of Slaughter, he fronted Xcursion, a Las Vegas-based metal band while attending Chaparral High School before joining the Vinnie Vincent Invasion, who had a hit song, "Love Kills", that appeared on the '' A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master'' movie soundtrack in 1988. After that band disbanded in the late 1980s, two of its members, Slaughter and Dana Strum, formed the group Slaughter. Slaughter sold more than five million records in the 1990s.
