Stephen Spach
Stephen Joseph Spach (born July 18, 1982) is a former American football tight end who played in the National Football League. He was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League as an undrafted free agent in 2005. He played college football at Fresno State. Spach was also a member of the Minnesota Vikings, New England Patriots, Arizona Cardinals, St. Louis Rams, and Jacksonville Jaguars. Early years Spach attended Clovis High School and was a letterman in football and basketball. In football, he helped lead his team to a 12-1 record, a Tri-River Athletic Conference Championship and a Central Section Championship as a senior (1999 season). Spach walked-on as a freshman (finally earning a scholarship as a redshirt sophomore) at California State University, Fresno and contributed to four winning seasons under Head Coach Pat Hill (2001-2004). Tight End
The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Like offensive linemen, they are usually lined up on the offensive line and are large enough to be effective blockers. On the other hand, unlike offensive linemen, they are eligible receivers adept enough to warrant a defense's attention when running pass patterns. Because of the hybrid nature of the position, the tight end's role in any given offense depends on the tactical preferences and philosophy of the head coach as well as overall team dynamic. 2004 MPC Computers Bowl
The 2004 MPC Computers Bowl was a post-season college football bowl game between the 2004 Fresno State Bulldogs football team, Fresno State Bulldogs and the 2004 Virginia Cavaliers football team, Virginia Cavaliers on December 27, 2004, at Bronco Stadium in Boise, Idaho. Fresno State won the game 37–34 in overtime on a 25-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Paul Pinegar to Stephen Spach. Virginia had a complicated route to the MPC Computers bowl.
