Stephen Sklenka
Stephen Douglas Sklenka is a United States Marine Corps lieutenant general who has served as the deputy commander of the United States Indo-Pacific Command since August 16, 2021. He previously served as the Director of Strategic Planning and Policy of the United States Indo-Pacific Command from July 2019. Previously, he was the Commanding General of the 1st Marine Logistics Group. Sklenka is a 1988 graduate of the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in history. He later earned a Master of Arts degree in national security and strategic studies from the Naval War College and a second Master of Arts degree in unconventional warfare/special operations low intensity conflict from the American Military University. The United States Marine Corps (USMC), also referred to as the United States Marines, is the maritime land force service branch of the United States Armed Forces responsible for conducting expeditionary and amphibious operations through combined arms, implementing its own infantry, artillery, aerial, and special operations forces. This is a complete list of four-star generals in the United States Marine Corps. The rank of general (or ''full general'', or '' four-star general'') is the highest rank in the Marine Corps. It ranks above lieutenant general (''three-star general''). There have been 74 four-star generals in the history of the United States Marine Corps. Of these, 56 achieved that rank while on active duty, 17 were promoted upon retirement in recognition of combat citations ("tombstone promotions", 1942–1959), and one was promoted posthumously.
