Stephen Richards (author)
Stephen Richards is an author writing in the self-help genre. The first book he wrote in 1998 was in the true crime genre for Mirage Publishing. He has co-written a number of books with others, but now concentrates on writing in the mind, body, spirit subjects of Cosmic Ordering and mind power. The best known works of Stephen Richards are probably The Cosmic Ordering Guide. and the co-authored book of Solitary Fitness. He has also worked on TV and radio. He produced and directed the three-hour video documentary Sincerely Yours about UK prisoner Charles Bronson (prisoner), Charles Bronson. In 2000, the then Home Secretary Jack Straw was granted an injunction banning the release of Sincerely Yours, on the grounds that it included footage of Bronson terrorizing a hostage in prison, whose copyright was owned by the prison, according to Straw . Having refused to withdraw the video saw Richards given a prison sentence (suspended) and he had to incur court costs of £64,000. The video ... Charles Bronson (prisoner)
Charles Arthur Salvador (formerly Charles Ali Ahmed; born Michael Gordon Peterson on 6 December 1952), better known as Charles Bronson, is a British criminal who has been referred to in the British press as the "most violent prisoner in Britain" and "Britain's most notorious prisoner". He has spent periods detained in the Rampton, Broadmoor and Ashworth high-security psychiatric hospitals. First arrested as a petty criminal, he was convicted and sentenced in 1974 to seven years' imprisonment for armed robbery. Additional time was added due to attacks on prisoners and guards. Upon his release in 1987, he began a bare-knuckle boxing career in the East End of London. His promoter thought he needed a more suitable name and suggested he change it to Charles Bronson in 1987, after the American actor. Mirage Publishing was a publisher of true crime books, founded by Stephen Richards in 1998. History The first book to come off the press was about murdered Tyneside gangland figure Viv Graham, written by investigative author Stephen Richards. Mirage was the first publisher to take a chance on publishing a book of poems, ''Birdman Opens His Mind'' () by UK prisoner Charles Bronson. This was followed by Bronson's autobiography ''Silent Scream'' (), which depicted the anachronistic penal system in the UK. Further books by Bronson and his then co-author and business manager Stephen Richards followed, including the book ''Solitary Fitness'' (), detailing an individual training process with minimal resources and space. John Blake (born 6 November 1948) is an English publisher and former journalist. ''John Blake Publishing'' was acquired by Bonnier Publishing in May 2016. Blake joined ''Soho Friday'', launched in November 2018, a venture with Richard Johnson and Derek Freeman. ''Ad Lib Publishing'' was launched in 2020. Early life Blake was born in Hitchin, one of four siblings, to a nurse and a soldier who fought in both world wars, ultimately becoming a major. His father suffered a significant financial setback by the time his son was ten. Journalist Blake left school at the age of 17 and gained employment at the ''Hackney Gazette''. Further jobs at an evening newspaper in Luton and a news agency followed.
