Stephen MacPherson
Stephen Macpherson (born 2 December 1964) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Footscray Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He became coach of the Greenvale Football Club, affiliated with the Essendon District Football League in 2004, steering them to multiple finals appearance over his six years at the club. Greenvale won the grand final in 2007, and played off in but lost the last three grand final matches in 2008, 2009 and 2010. At the end of the 2010 season he was the longest-serving coach of any side in the EDFL. At the senior football presentation night of Greenvale Football Club on 9 October 2010, Macpherson declared that he was officially stepping down as senior coach of the club. He had previously advised in 2009 that he would be leaving the club altogether at the end of the 2010 season, regardless of the outcome. The Clarence Football Club, nicknamed ''The Kangaroos'' (and usually referred to as simply "The Roos"), is an Australian rules football club playing in the Tasmanian State League, based in Bellerive, Tasmania. Before 1947, they existed as Bellerive Football Club. The Gold Coast Suns is a professional Australian rules football club that competes in the Australian Football League (AFL). The club is based on Queensland's Gold Coast in the suburb of Carrara. The father–son rule is a rule that allows clubs preferential recruiting access to the sons of players who have made a major past contribution to the club in Australian rules football, most notably in the Australian Football League. The rule was first established in 1949, and there have been more than ten amendments, most recently the refining of the draft bidding process in 2015. History The father–son rule was established during the 1949 season, allowing a player to be recruited by the club his father had played for, despite being residentially zoned to another club. Anthony Rock
Anthony Rock (born 29 September 1970) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for North Melbourne and Hawthorn in the VFL/AFL. Junior career Rock played his junior football at St Dominic's Junior FC—a club that later folded due to lack of parent volunteers, leaving him without a club at age 13. He moved to the Hadfield Football Club, and it was this club from which he was recruited by North Melbourne. AFL career He made his debut in the league during the 1988 season with North Melbourne. He stayed with the club a further 3 years after playing in their 1996 centenary premiership, moving to Hawthorn until his retirement in 2001.
