Stephen Crow (game Programmer)
Stephen Crow (also known as Stephen J. Crow, Steve Crow, and Steve J. Crow) is a game programmer who worked in the 1980s on the ZX Spectrum platform, programming for companies such as Hewson Consultants and Bubble Bus Software. He also worked with members of the Graftgold team. More recently, he was the lead artist working for the now-defunct Monkeytropolis. Recognition Crow was elected "Best Programmer Of The Year" in 1986 by the readers of CRASH. He was also voted best programmer of the year at the 1985 Golden Joystick Awards. ZX Spectrum
The ZX Spectrum () is an 8-bit computing, 8-bit home computer that was developed by Sinclair Research. It was released in the United Kingdom on 23 April 1982, and became Britain's best-selling microcomputer. Referred to during development as the ''ZX81 Colour'' and ''ZX82'', it was launched as the ''ZX Spectrum'' to highlight the machine's colour display, which differed from the black and white display of its predecessor, the ZX81. The Spectrum was released as six different models, ranging from the entry level with 16 Kilobyte, KB RAM released in 1982 to the ZX Spectrum +3 with 128 KB RAM and built in floppy disk drive in 1987; altogether they sold over 5 million units worldwide (not counting List of ZX Spectrum clones, unofficial clones). Savage (video Game)
''Savage'' is an action game developed by Probe Software and published by Firebird Software in 1988 for ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC, Atari ST, and MS-DOS. In 1989 Firebird published a version for the Amiga. Gameplay ''Savage'' is a three-part game; the first part is side-scrolling level with a muscular hero warrior fighting his way in a castle dungeon; the second is a 3D into-the-screen action sequence where the player has to shoot targets while avoiding monstrous stone heads; the third level a bird has to find its way in a 2d scrolling maze, collect four keys and reach the exit. The story is a swords and sorcery fantasy, with the muscular hero in the end rescuing his 'maiden love' from the clutches of the "Dark Guardian". ''Earthworm Jim'' is a 1994 run and gun platform game developed by Shiny Entertainment, featuring an earthworm named Jim, who wears a robotic suit and battles the forces of evil. The game was released for the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo Entertainment System, before being subsequently ported to a number of other video game consoles. It was well received by critics, and received a sequel, ''Earthworm Jim 2'', in 1995. In 2009, Gameloft developed and released a remake for mobile phones and Nintendo DSi which was later ported to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as '' Earthworm Jim HD''. ''Cool Spot'' is a 1993 platform game developed and published by Virgin Games for the Mega Drive/Genesis and Super Nintendo Entertainment System.
