Stephen A. D. Greaves
Stephen Arne Decatur Greaves Sr. (January 30, 1817 - November 17, 1880) was an American army officer, plantation owner, lawyer, and Democratic Party (United States), Democratic politician. He was a member of the Mississippi House of Representatives, representing Hinds County, Mississippi, Hinds County, in 1846. Biography Stephen Arne Decatur Greaves was born on January 30, 1817, in Marion County, South Carolina. He served as an officer in the Mexican–American War, Mexican War, ending his service as a Brigadier general (United States), Brigadier General. In 1846, he became a member of the Mississippi House of Representatives, representing Hinds County, Mississippi, Hinds County as a Democratic Party (United States), Democrat. Hinds County is a county located in the U.S. state of Mississippi. With its county seats (Raymond and the state's capital, Jackson), Hinds is the most populous county in Mississippi with a 2020 census population of 227,742 residents. Clarence Budney Greaves (August 22, 1863 - August 1940) was a Democratic member of the Mississippi state legislature in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He represented the Mississippi's 18th senatorial district in the Mississippi Senate from 1896 to 1900 and from 1912 to 1920, and represented Madison County in the Mississippi House of Representatives from 1904 to 1908.
