Stepfret Williams
Stepfret Williams III (born June 14, 1973) is a former American football wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys and Cincinnati Bengals. He played college football at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Early years Williams attended Minden High School, where his father was an assistant football coach. As a senior, he received All-state honors playing defensive back, while also being named an All-district selection at wide receiver, after registering 15 receptions for 350 yards. He accepted a football scholarship from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. As a freshman he played behind Vincent Brisby, making 5 receptions for 86 yards and one touchdown in 5 games. Vincent Brisby
Vincent Cole Brisby (born January 25, 1971), is a former professional American football wide receiver who played for the New England Patriots and the New York Jets in the National Football League (NFL). He was selected by the New England Patriots in the second round of the 1993 NFL Draft. A 6'3", 193 lb. wide receiver from Northeast Louisiana University (now called University of Louisiana at Monroe), Brisby played eight NFL seasons from 1993 to 2000 for the Patriots and New York Jets. He was given the name Vincent "Ultimate" Brisby by ESPN analyst Chris Berman. Brisby's best game was arguably Week 5 in his second season. The Arizona Cardinals are a professional American football team based in the Phoenix metropolitan area. In the National Football League, training camp refers to the time before the season commences. During this time, teams sometimes congregate at an outside location, usually a university, to conduct training camp for at least the first few weeks. This is similar to baseball's spring training. Training camp is used in several different ways. New players and coaches use it to acclimate themselves to new teammates and systems. For younger players, it serves as a period of evaluation; for veterans, it is time to return to form. Training camp is divided into several different components. The first is scrimmages. 1997 NFL Season
The 1997 NFL season was the 78th regular season of the National Football League. The Oilers relocated from Houston, Texas to Nashville, Tennessee. The newly renamed Tennessee Oilers played their home games during this season at the Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium in Memphis, Tennessee while construction of a new stadium in Nashville started. A down is a period in which a play transpires in gridiron football. The down is a distinguishing characteristic of the game compared to other codes of football, but is synonymous with a "tackle" in rugby league. The team in possession of the football has a limited number of downs (four in American football, three in Canadian football) to advance ten yards or more towards their opponent's goal line. 1996 NFL Draft
The 1996 NFL draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. The draft was held April 20–21, 1996, at the Paramount Theatre at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. No teams chose to claim any players in the supplemental draft that year. On draft day, the St. Louis Rams traded running back Jerome Bettis and a third-round draft pick to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for a second round pick for that year, as well as a fourth round pick the following year.
