Gotthard Friedrich Stender
Gotthard Friedrich Stender ( lv, Gothards Frīdrihs Stenders or ''Ģederts Fridriks Štenders''; 1714–1796), also called Old Stender (''Vecais Stenders''), was a Baltic German Lutheran parson who played an outstanding role in Latvia's history of culture. He was the first Latvian grammarian and lexicographer, founder of the Latvian secular literature in the 18th century. In the spirit of Enlightenment, he wrote the first Latvian-German and German-Latvian dictionaries, wrote the first encyclopedia “” (1774), and wrote the first illustrated Latvian alphabet book (1787). Inger Stender (1912–1989) was a Danish actress of stage, film and television whose sophisticated elegance and classic beauty earned her the description of Denmark's version of Marlene Dietrich. Early life Inger Margueritha Stender was born 7 June 1912 in Copenhagen, Denmark, the daughter of a baker. Linda Stender
Linda Stender (born July 25, 1951) is an American Democratic Party politician who served in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2002 to 2016, where she represented the 22nd legislative district. She ran unsuccessfully for a seat in the United States House of Representatives, seeking to represent New Jersey's 7th District, in 2006 and 2008. She was narrowly defeated by incumbent Representative Mike Ferguson in 2006 but lost by a wider margin to Leonard Lance in the November 4, 2008 election. Paul Stender AKA "Jet Car Paul" is best known for designing, building, and driving some of the most extreme and fastest Jet/Turbine Engine powered land vehicles in the world. Early life and education Stender was born in Big Bend, Wisconsin, and attended Mukwonago High School. Stender's parents were John (1930-2001) and Patrica (1932-1992). His father served in the US Navy, ran a large Dairy Farm in Big Bend, and when the Milwaukee suburbs moved in closer, became a Realtor. His mother raised Paul on the farm and their new house until he became old enough to take care of himself then went on to a very successful career at Marshall Fields in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. Racing career Beginnings Stender grew up racing ATVs, motorcycles, and snowmobiles in his teens and early twenties.
