''Stella Inquisitorus'' ("Star Inquisitor") is a science fiction "space opera" sequel to the French supernatural role-playing game '' In Nomine Satanis / Magna Veritas''. It was written by Croc and published in 1993 by Siroz. Characters play Angels, Demons, or pagan Space Vikings. ''Stella Inquisitorus'' uses, and is compatible with, the Second Edition of the ''In Nomine Satanis / Magna Veritas'' rules. Plot overview The plot is set in 6993 AD. At the dawn of the 21st century, God and Lucifer ended the Great Game and revealed their existence. This triggered Armageddon. Space Opera
Space opera is a subgenre of science fiction that emphasizes space warfare, with use of melodramatic, risk-taking space adventures, relationships, and chivalric romance. Set mainly or entirely in outer space, it features technological and social advancements (or lack thereof) in faster-than-light travel, futuristic weapons, and sophisticated technology, on a backdrop of galactic empires and interstellar wars with fictional aliens, often in fictional galaxies. The term has no relation to opera music, but is instead a play on the terms "soap opera", a melodramatic television series, and "horse opera", which was coined during the 1930s to indicate a clichéd and formulaic Western film. ''In Nomine Satanis/Magna Veritas'' is a French role-playing game, created by Croc. In Nomine Satanis ("In Satan's Name") was the Demonic player's guide and Magna Veritas ("The Great Truth") was the Angelic player's guide. ''In Nomine Satanis/Magna Veritas'' (often abbreviated as INS/MV) was first designed by the French company Siroz, available in its fourth edition. The French edition of the game was stopped in 2006, with the publication of the sourcebook ''On Ferme !'' (meaning "We close!"). The game relates the events told in the Bible in a somewhat parodical fashion, and explains the existence of other religions and magic with a sense of humor. The backdrop for the game is the modern world, but one where angels and demons incarnate themselves in human bodies in order to fight for good or evil. Croc (game Designer)
Christophe Réaux (born December 16, 1965, France) largely and mainly known by the pseudonym Croc, is a French games designer, specialized in role-playing games (RPG) although he also has designed at least both a board game (''L'Âge des dieux'', ''Age of Gods'') and a miniatures game (''Hell Dorado''). He is considered in his own country as a role-playing games pioneer and one of the most important designers in the ambit of such games. (on the upcoming release of Croc's miniatures game ''Hell Dorado'') Croc's games are edited by Siroz (a homophone of the French word ''cirrhose'', meaning "cirrhosis"), now called Asmodée éditions, French for Asmodeus.
