Stefano Fassina
Stefano Fassina (born 17 April 1966) is an Italian economist and politician, member of the Chamber of Deputies and former member of the Italian Democratic Party. Since September 2018, he is the leader of the left-wing political association, Fatherland and Constitution. Biography Born in Rome, a former university leader of the Left Youth Organization in 1996, after graduating in economics from Bocconi University Fassina became consultant for the minister of Finance in the Prodi government. From 2002 to 2005 he worked at the International Monetary Fund. In November 2009, Fassina started his political career as coordinator on economic issues for the Democratic Party. He was elected member of the Chamber of Deputies in 2012. The mixed group ( it, Gruppo Misto, GM) is a parliamentary group active in both houses of the Italian Parliament, the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate. The groups comprise all the deputies and the senators, respectively, who are not members of any other parliamentary group. For them, membership of the Mixed Groups is the default option. The Italian electoral law of 2017, colloquially known by the nickname ''Rosatellum bis'' or simply ''Rosatellum'' after Ettore Rosato, the Democratic Party (PD) leader in the Chamber of Deputies who first proposed the new law, is a parallel voting system, which acts as a mixed electoral system, with 37% of seats allocated using a first-past-the-post electoral system and 63% using a proportional method, with one round of voting.
