Stefan Erixon
Stefan Erixon (born 1 December 1977) is a former Swedish bandy player. Career Club career Erixon is a youth product of Gamleby and represented their senior team, IFK Motala, Hammarby before joining Zorky in 2007. In December 2008, his contract with Zorky was terminated because of the club's financial problems. Erixon then returned to Hammarby and played there until 2015. International career Erixon has played for the Swedish national bandy team making his debut in the 2001–02 season. Gamleby IF
Gamleby is the second largest locality situated in Västervik Municipality, Kalmar County, Sweden with 2,775 inhabitants in 2010. It is situated about 20 km north-west of Västervik, in the area known as Tjust. Gamleby (which means "old village") was the original location of the town Västervik, first mentioned in 1275 (as Västervik). In 1433 Västervik moved to its present place, but a small settlement remained here. The bandy and football club Tjust IF has its home in Gamleby. 2007 Bandy World Championship
The 2007 Bandy World Championship was held in Kemerovo, Russia, 27 January – 4 February 2007. Men's national teams from 12 countries participated in the 2007 tournament: Belarus, Finland, Kazakhstan, Norway, Russia, Sweden (group A) and Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Mongolia, the Netherlands and the United States (group B). Canada was initially also supposed to take part in the tournament but withdrew so Latvia took its place. Belarus retained their place in group A by beating the United States in a playoff at the end of the previous tournament held in 2006. The local time in Kemerovo is UTC+7. Zorky Krasnogorsk Players
Zorky (russian: Зоркий) is a bandy club based in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Oblast, Russia. Its team currently plays in the Russian Bandy Super League, the top tier of the Russian bandy championship. The club was founded in 1954. Zorky have had some recent successes and reached the finals of the Bandy World Cup, Russian Cup and Champions Cup in the 2006–07 season only to lose to Dynamo Moscow in all three matches. In 2009 they reached the World Cup final again, this time losing to Hammarby. In 2012, they won the World Cup. The team was the best team of the regular season of the Russian Bandy Super League 2012–13 but lost the final against Dynamo Moscow for the national championship. For the 2016–17 season, the team almost got bankrupt and was relegated to the Russian Bandy Supreme League. For the 2017–18 season, it returned to the Super League. The club also has a women's team. Swedish National Bandy Team
The Sweden national bandy team ( sv, Sveriges herrlandslag i bandy) represents Sweden in the sport of bandy. There are two separate national teams, a national bandy team for men, and a national bandy team for women. This article deals chiefly with Sweden's national men's bandy team. Sweden has been playing friendlies against Finland and Norway since the early 20th century. In 1907 and 1909 there were also occasional games against Russia and Denmark. The games were set up informally from 1907 and in official internationals from 1919. Agreements were made to play friendlies against Soviet Union in the late 1940s, but the plans did not come to realization. Finland, Norway and Sweden played bandy at the Winter Olympics in Oslo in 1952. After having seen them there, the Soviet Union invited these three countries to a four nation bandy tournament in 1954.
