Alasdair Steedman
Air Chief Marshal Sir Alasdair McKay Sinclair Steedman, (29 January 1922 – 2 January 1992) was a senior commander in the Royal Air Force. RAF career Steedman joined the Royal Air Force in 1942 and served as a pilot during the Second World War. He was appointed Officer Commanding No. 39 Squadron in 1948 and Officer Commanding No. 8 Squadron in 1949. He went on to be Station Commander at Royal Ceylon Air Force Base Katanayake in 1957 and after a tour on the Directing Staff at the Joint Services Staff College from 1960 he became Station Commander at RAF Lyneham in 1962. From 1965 to 1967 he was Chief of the Air Staff of the Royal Malaysian Air Force. He was made Director of Defence Plans (Air) in 1967, Director of the Defence Operations Staff in 1968 and Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Policy) in 1969. Peter Steedman
Alan Peter Steedman (born 7 December 1941) is a former Australian politician. He represented the Australian Labor Party (ALP) in the House of Representatives from 1983 to 1984, holding the Victorian seat of Casey. Early life At Melbourne University Steedman edited '' Farrago'', the Melbourne University Student Union paper. He also edited ''Lot's Wife'' at Monash University. After leaving university he joined ''The Age'' as "editor of a section aimed at the youth market". Politics In September 1982, Steedman won ALP preselection for the Division of Casey. He was elected to the House of Representatives at the 1983 federal election, defeating the incumbent Liberal MP Peter Falconer. Morris And Steedman
Morris and Steedman was an architecture firm based in Edinburgh, Scotland. The firm was founded by James Shepherd Morris (1931–2006) and Robert Russell Steedman (born 1929) in the 1950s. The pair are best known for their private houses in the modernist style, built during the 1950s and 1960s, described as "arguably the most important series of 20th century houses by a single practice in Scotland". Both founders retired in 2002, although their practice continues as Morris and Steedman Associates. Several of their buildings are now listed, and seven of their works were included on the list of 100 best modern Scottish buildings published by '' Prospect'' magazine in 2005. The F Street House is today a historic 19th-century mansion in Washington, D.C., blocks away from the White House, that serves as the official residence of the President of the George Washington University. It is a registered landmark on the National Register of Historic Places and was previously known as the Steedman-Ray House, Alexander Ray House, and as the F Street Club. Bertha Steedman
Bertha Steedman (20 July 1866 – 11 January 1945) was a British tennis player who won nine double titles at the All England Championships, a precursor to the Wimbledon Championships, between 1889 and 1899. Steedman won the All England Championships doubles tournament with her sister Mary Steedman in 1889 and 1890. From 1893 to 1897 she won the doubles title partnering Blanche Bingley, then in 1898 and 1899 with Ruth Durlacher. Neville Steedman
Neville Steedman (born 18 September 1957) was an Irish soccer player during the 1980s who played as a forward. He represented Thurles Town, Shamrock Rovers and Galway United amongst others during his career. He made three appearances for Rovers in the European Cup and 75 in total. Steedman had been playing reserve football for Bohs and Athlone after his stint at Thurles when he was contacted by Jim McLaughlin (football manager). He signed for the Glenmalure Park club in 1983 making his debut in a Dublin City Cup game on 2 September. On 22 August 1984, in a LFA President's Cup final, he took over from injured goalkeeper Jody Byrne as Rovers won the first trophy of the season. Mark Jerome Steedman, (born 18 September 1946) is a computational linguist and cognitive scientist.
