David Stearns
David Stearns (born February 18, 1985) is an American baseball executive who most recently served as the president of baseball operations for the Milwaukee Brewers of Major League Baseball (MLB). Stearns currently holds an advisory role with the team. Stearns previously served as the assistant general manager of MLB's Houston Astros, worked for the Office of the Commissioner of Baseball, the Arizona Fall League, and in the baseball operations departments for the Cleveland Indians and New York Mets. He served as the head football coach at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, New Mexico for two seasons, from 1992 to 1993, compiling a record of 6–13–1. George McClellan (Mac) Stearns (17 December 1901 – 9 January 1979) was a Progressive Conservative party member of the House of Commons of Canada. He was an industrialist by career, starting up and running the Mégantic Pulp & Paper Company. Stearns was born in the small rural town of Lac-Mégantic, Quebec. George Luther Stearns (January 8, 1809 – April 9, 1867) was an American industrialist and merchant in Medford, Massachusetts, as well as an abolitionist and a noted recruiter of black soldiers for the Union Army during the American Civil War. Frank Preston Stearns (1846–1917), the son of abolitionist George Luther Stearns, was a writer and abolitionist from Massachusetts during the 19th century.
