Staxtonbury Music Festival
The Staxtonbury Family Music Festival, commonly abbreviated to Staxtonbury, is a local British music festival, held every year at Staxton, near Scarborough, North Yorkshire, best known for its break through local music acts. The festival has run since 2009, and has been very successful, not just with local people but a wider audience. The size and nature of the festival, held over three or four days in the open air, with performers, crew and paying festival goers staying in tents, caravans and motorhomes, has meant that the weather is significant. It is now attended by around 10,000 annually. Staxton
Staxton is a village in North Yorkshire, England, part of the civil parish of Willerby, and situated approximately 8.2 miles from Scarborough town centre. Until 1974 the village lay in the historic county boundaries of the East Riding of Yorkshire and from 1974 to 2023 was a part of the Ryedale district. Geography The village is a linear settlement situated in the south easterly edge of the Vale of Pickering. The village is one of several which follow what would have been the shoreline of the lake that filled the valley in the last ice age. Approximately north of the village is the River Hertford, a tributary to the River Derwent, which has been straightened to allow increased farming of the valley. Staxton Hill is south of the village and is the northerly edge of the Yorkshire Wolds, with its highest point at above sea level. Scarborough () is a seaside town in the Borough of Scarborough in North Yorkshire, England. Scarborough is located on the North Sea coastline. The Sherlocks
The Sherlocks are an indie rock band from South Yorkshire. The band consists of brothers, Kiaran & Brandon Crook along with Alex Procter & Trent Jackson. History Early career The band played at Reading and Leeds Festivals in August 2015. The single 'Heart of Gold' received airplay from BBC Radio 1's Annie Mac, Huw Stephens, Greg James and BBC 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq. The fourth single, "Last Night", was released in February 2016, with the band being invited by BBC Introducing to play the SXSW festival in March 2016 in Austin, Texas. The band also played in Manchester as part of Dot to Dot festival in May 2016, followed by once more playing at the Leeds and Reading Festivals 2016. In 2016, they supported The Libertines as part of their Arena Tour. The Sherlocks released their fifth single, "Will You Be There?", on 15 September 2016. Ryan Swain (born 24 February 1990) is an English radio presenter, disc jockey, DJ, actor, comedian, motivational speaker, philanthropy, philanthropist, and skateboarding, skateboarder. Glastonbury
Glastonbury (, ) is a town and civil parish in Somerset, England, situated at a dry point on the low-lying Somerset Levels, south of Bristol. The town, which is in the Mendip district, had a population of 8,932 in the 2011 census. Glastonbury is less than across the River Brue from Street, which is now larger than Glastonbury.
