Statesmen of Comedy was a half-hour comedy panel show hosted by Trevor Marmalade. Trevor talks with Australia’s finest comedians, not only about the skills of their trade, but also provides a range of off-the-wall topics inviting them to flex their comedy muscles. Trevor Marmalade
Trevor Marmalade (born Jason van de Velde, 26 April 1962) is an Australian comedian and radio and television presenter. Marmalade is of Dutch people, Dutch descent and grew up in the Melbourne suburb of Surrey Hills, Victoria, Surrey Hills. Career During the 1980s, Marmalade was a member of the alternative comedy show ''Punter to Punter'' with Tracy Harvey as Tammy Whittle, Tony Rickards as Con Marasco, Mitchell Faircloth as Slim Whittle and John Rothfield as Dr Turf. The show was broadcast on 3RRR on Saturday mornings after the Coodabeen Champions. Marmalade is also a successful standup comedy, standup comic going back to his appearances in the early 1980s at The Last Laugh (comedy venue), "Le Joke" and "The Last Laugh". Colin Lane
Colin Stuart Lane (born 25 March 1965) is an Australian comedian, actor and TV host, best known for being one-half of comedy duo Lano and Woodley. Lano and Woodley Lane performed with fellow comedian Frank Woodley as part of the duo Lano and Woodley for a period of almost 20 years. The two met through theatresports in the mid-1980s and first performed together at an open mike night at the Prince Patrick Hotel in Collingwood, Victoria, in 1987 along with their friend Scott Casley, calling themselves the Found Objects. Over the next six years, the trio performed in venues throughout Australia and at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Dave O'Neil
David O'Neil (born 8 May 1965) is an Australian stand-up comedian, actor, bass guitarist, writer, television and radio presenter with unusually large thumbs. Early career Dave was a Cub, Scout, Venturer and Rover. His late father Kevin was the Group Leader at the 1st/3rd Mitcham Scout Group. After finishing high school, O'Neil completed a course in primary school teaching; however, he never taught. Cal Wilson (born 5 October 1970) is a New Zealand stand-up comedian, author, radio and television presenter. Elliot Goblet
Elliot Goblet is a comedy character created by the Australian comedian Jack Levi. The character is known for the deadpan delivery of one-line jokes. The style compares with the American comedian Steven Wright but developed independently. At first Goblet appeared with round glasses and a goatee beard, but the beard was later removed. Vince Sorrenti
Vince Sorrenti (born 21 March 1961) is an Australian stand-up comedian, writer and television presenter from Punchbowl, New South Wales. He is of Italian descent. Sorrenti performs nationally and internationally. He performs at sports hospitality, charity events, corporate events, club venues and private parties.
