Statesboro High School
Statesboro High School is a public high school located in the city of Statesboro, Georgia, United States. It was founded in 1901. Its current principal is Keith Wright. The school completed construction on a new $4.2 million state-of-the-art building in 2009, and the new football stadium, Womack Field, was completed in the fall of 2007. History Statesboro High was founded in 1901 with the original school house, a wooden structure, being built on Grady Street in Statesboro. The second Statesboro High School building, a brick structure, was built alongside the original in 1922. The original wooden building was still used until the late 1960s, when both buildings were destroyed by a fire. The original part of the current building on Lester Road was completed in the summer of 1964. Renovations and additions to the building have continued over the years. Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. Defensive end (DE) is a defensive position in the sport of gridiron football. This position has designated the players at each end of the defensive line, but changes in formation (American football), formations over the years have substantially changed how the position is played. Justin Donovan Houston (born January 21, 1989) is an American football outside linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Georgia, where he earned All-American honors, and was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft. Johns Joseph Hamilton (born September 9, 1970) is a former Major League Baseball pitcher who played professionally for nine seasons, recording a 74–73 win–loss record, a 4.44 earned run average (ERA) and 894 strikeouts. He attended Statesboro High School in Georgia. Following high school, Hamilton attended Georgia Southern University for three years. He started his professional career in 1991 when he was drafted by the San Diego Padres, and pitched for three major league teams during his career.
