Karnataka State Highway 57, commonly referred to as KA SH 57, is a normal state highway that runs north through many districts in the state of Karnataka. This state highway touches numerous cities and villages Viz.Shimoga, Chikmagalur, Hassan and K R Nagar. The total length of the highway is 662 km. Chikmagalur, officially Chikkamagaluru is an administrative district in the Malnad subregion of Karnataka, India. Coffee was first cultivated in India in Chikmagalur. Biligiriranga Hills
The Biligirirangana Hills or Biligirirangan Hills (as referred to in biology and geology) is a hill range situated in south-western Karnataka, at its border with Tamil Nadu (Erode District) in South India. The area is called Biligiri Ranganatha Swamy Temple Wildlife Sanctuary or simply BRT Wildlife Sanctuary. It is a Protected area, protected reserve under the Wildlife Protection Act of 1972. Being close to the Eastern Ghats as well as the Western Ghats, the sanctuary has floral and faunal associations with both regions. Tarikere
Tarikere is a taluk in the Chikkamagaluru district in the state of Karnataka of India. The headquarters of the taluk is a town of the same name. It is popularly known as gateway of Malnad because the Malnad area starts from here. The town's name is derived from the number of water tanks which surround it (kere is the word for a large water tank). Getting there Road National Highway NH-69 (Previously known as NH 206) ( Bengaluru to Honnavar) passes through Tarikere. From Mysore it can be reached via Mysore - Arsikere then NH-69.
