Kerala Public Works Department (KPWD) is a department under the government of the state of Kerala, India. It manages the construction and maintenance of civil structures owned by the government viz; government buildings, government owned hospitals (part of the public health system), roads, bridges etc. The KPWD was formed in 1956 following reorganization of states. History In Kochi, British Residents had a separate department called Public Works Commission to carry off construction works in British Cochin. The kingdom had its own Marmath Department since 1825, as a separate agency to monitor construction of roads and palaces. Neriyamangalam
Neriamangalam is a village in Ernakulam district in the Indian state of Kerala. Neriamangalam is on the banks of Periyar River. It is on the border of Ernakulam and Idukki districts. Agriculture is the predominant occupation in this area. The Neriamangalam Bridge, Ranikallu (stone of queen) etc. are of historical importance. Mukkoottuthara is a developing Town located in the south eastern part of Kottayam district of Kerala State, India. Sabarimala is only from Erumely, while travelling through Mukkoottuthara. Kanamala (), commonly known by the name Pambavalley, is a village in Erumely panchayath in Kanjirappally tehsil of Kottayam district in the Indian state of Kerala. Thulappally
Thulappally is a small village in Perunad panchayath of Ranni tehsil in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala state, India. Etymology It is believed that in ancient times there were many small churches in the forest regions including Nilakkal and Thulappally as a result by the visit of St. Thomas in 52 AD.
