State Basketball League All-Star Five ...
The All-NBL1 West First Team is an annual NBL1 West honour bestowed on the best players in the league each year. Under the State Basketball League (SBL) brand, a five-player team was named every year between 2005 and 2019. Alternating between the terms "All Stars", "All Star Teams" and "All-Star Five" until 2017, in 2018 and 2019 "All-SBL First Team" was used. In 2021, an All-NBL1 West First Team was named following the league's rebranding. On a few occasions, due to the different voting systems, the Most Valuable Player has not been named in the All-Star Five / First Team. NBL1 West
NBL1 West, formerly the State Basketball League (SBL), is a semi-professional basketball league in Western Australia, comprising both a men's and women's competition. In 2020, Basketball Western Australia partnered with the National Basketball League (NBL) to bring NBL1 to Western Australia. NBL1 replaced the former SBL to create more professional pathways and opportunities for males and females playing basketball in Western Australia. As a result, the SBL became the west conference of NBL1. History The State Basketball League originated in 1972 as the District Competition. The District Competition was introduced by the Western Australian Basketball Federation (WABF) as an 'elite' competition held on Friday nights, featuring eight Perth-based associations from the prominent districts of Perth, Swan Districts, Tangney/Willetton, Subiaco, East Perth, Cockburn, Stirling, and Claremont. Goldfields Giants is an NBL1 West club based in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. The club fields a team in both the Men's and Women's NBL1 West. The team is affiliated with Kalgoorlie-Boulder Basketball Association (KBBA), the major administrative basketball organisation in the region. Kalamunda Eastern Suns is an NBL1 West club based in Perth, Western Australia. The club fields a team in both the Men's and Women's NBL1 West. The club is a division of Kalamunda & Districts Basketball Association (KDBA), the major administrative basketball organisation in Perth's eastern region. Adrian Majstrovich
Adrian "A. J." Majstrovich (born 9 February 1980) is a New Zealand-Australian former professional basketball player. He spent the majority of his 20-year career playing in the Australian NBL, New Zealand NBL and State Basketball League (SBL). He achieved the most success in New Zealand, winning two championships and earning the Rookie of the Year in 2003 and league MVP in 2004. Luke Payne (born October 3, 1985) is an American former basketball player and coach. He played both guard positions during his playing days; he was a standout college player for the USC Upstate Spartans before moving to Australia and forging a successful four-year career with the Lakeside Lightning of the State Basketball League (SBL). Jeff Dowdell
Jeffrey Dowdell (born 13 March 1987) is an Australian professional basketball player. Born in Cooma, New South Wales, he is a product of the Shoalhaven Tigers basketball program which has produced several NBL, WNBL, and NCAA players including his brother Ben who spent 2007–2011 attending Santa Clara University and playing for the Santa Clara Broncos. Peter Crawford (basketball)
Peter Crawford (born 6 November 1979) is an Australian basketball coach and former player who is an assistant coach for the Brisbane Bullets of the National Basketball League (NBL). Playing career In 1998, Crawford was a member of the Townsville Heat's losing ABA semi-final team. Two years later, he helped the Heat win the QBL championship. Paul Andrew Rogers (born 29 September 1973) is an Australian former professional basketball player most known for his 12 seasons in the Australian National Basketball League (NBL). After playing college basketball in the United States for Gonzaga, he was drafted in the 1997 NBA draft by the Los Angeles Lakers but never played an NBA game.
