''Starry Night Over the Phone'' is the third studio album by Australian rap artist Allday. It was released on 12 July 2019. The album spawned four singles: " Wonder Drug", "Protection", "Lungs" and " Restless", featuring The Veronicas. The album's title is a reference to the Vincent van Gogh painting ''Starry Night Over the Rhône'', with the album artwork's use of light also referencing the painting. At the AIR Awards of 2020, the album was nominated for Best Independent Hip Hop Album Or EP. The album ultimately lost to Sampa the Great's album ''The Return''. Reception Anna Rose from ''The Music AU'' said the album "is a tender, star-studded offering, one that shows a maturity of soul and sound without washing out his signature hybrid of hip hop and pop." adding " hechoice in collaborators brings a certain depth to his music." but concluded saying "...without the talents of musicians borrowed from other genres, this would be a pretty bland album." Tomas Henry Gaynor (born 21 February 1991), known professionally as Allday, is an Australian rapper, singer and songwriter from Adelaide, South Australia. Gaynor became active in 2011, when he began uploading his music for free online. Following his works becoming increasingly popular, he moved to Melbourne, Victoria, to pursue a serious career before later relocating to Los Angeles, California, in February 2017. His works have been influenced by acts such as Silverchair, Frank Ocean, and TLC. Gaynor released his debut album, '' Startup Cult'', in July 2014 to Australian audiences. The 2020 AIR Awards was the fourteenth annual Australian Independent Record Labels Association Music Awards ceremony (generally known as the AIR Awards). It took place on 1 October 2020 in Adelaide. The nominations were revealed on 7 July 2020, consisting of sixteen categories, up four from twelve, as was the case in 2019. The four new categories were: Best Independent Pop Album or EP, Best Independent Rock Album or EP, Best Independent Children's Album or EP, and Best Independent Soul/R&B Album or EP.
