Stark Township is a township in Brown County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 384 as of the 2000 census. History Stark Township was organized in 1868. It was named for August Starck, an early settler and native of Germany. The company was the original marketer of the Red Delicious and Golden Delicious apples. History In 1816, James Hart Stark moved from Kentucky to Louisiana, Missouri. Gregory Douglass (born December 19, 1980) is an American singer-songwriter. Douglass plays lead guitar and piano. Background Douglass was born and raised in rural Vermont, performing in musical theater and winning local talent shows in his early teens. He taught himself to play the piano and guitar by age 14, and began writing his own original songs throughout junior high. While attending Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, Douglass composed and recorded the material for his first two albums. Stark Young (October 11, 1881 – January 6, 1963) was an American teacher, playwright, novelist, painter, literary critic, translator, and essayist. Early life Stark Young was born on October 11, 1881 in Como, Mississippi. His father, Alfred Alexander Young, was a physician. His mother, Mary Clark Starks, was a direct descendant of the McGehees, an old planter family; she died when he was nine years old. Shortly after her death, Young was sent to live at the McGehee Plantation in Senatobia, Mississippi. Young entered the University of Mississippi at the age of 15 and graduated from that institution in 1901. He completed his Master's Degree at Columbia University in New York in 1902.
