''Stargate'' games are inspired by the ''Stargate'' franchise, which started with the 1994 film, ''Stargate'' directed by Roland Emmerich. The games in this article are not related to the 1981 arcade game ''Stargate'' by Williams Electronics. Games ''Stargate ride'' ''Stargate SG-3000'' (abbreviated to ''SG-3000'') is a simulator thrill ride based around the highly successful MGM television series ''Stargate SG-1'' that made its debut at The Space Centre in Bremen, Germany in December, 2003. A reproduction has now been built at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, Six Flags Great America and Six Flags Marine World. As of 2006, Six Flags Great America no longer shows Stargate SG-3000. The contract with the park expired and the movie was pulled about a month before the season started. ''Stargate'' pinball ''Stargate'' is a 1995 pinball game, designed by Ray Tanzer and Jon Norris and released by Gottlieb. Stargate
''Stargate'' (often stylized in all caps) is a military science fiction media franchise based on the Stargate (film), film directed by Roland Emmerich, which he co-wrote with producer Dean Devlin. The franchise is based on the idea of an alien Einstein–Rosen bridge device (the Stargate (device), Stargate) that enables nearly teleportation, instantaneous travel across the cosmos. The franchise began with the film ''Stargate (film), Stargate'', released on October 28, 1994, by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Carolco, which grossed United States dollar, US$197million worldwide. Samantha "Sam" Carter, United States Air Force, USAF is a Character (arts), fictional character in the Canadian–American military science fiction ''Stargate'' franchise. Played by Amanda Tapping, she appears in all three shows in the franchise: ''Stargate SG-1'', ''Stargate Atlantis'', and ''Stargate Universe''. She was a main character in all ten seasons of ''Stargate SG-1'' (1997–2007). It was founded by Daniel Scott Palter in 1974 in New York City, but later moved to Honesdale, Pennsylvania.
