Star Wars Arcade
''Star Wars'' is a 1993 arcade game developed by Sega and based on the original ''Star Wars'' trilogy. Combining elements of ''A New Hope'' and ''Return of the Jedi'', the game has players pilot a Rebel starship and battle against the forces of the Empire. Sega developed ''Star Wars'' for their Model 1 system, the same arcade hardware that powered ''Virtua Fighter'' and ''Virtua Racing''. Like those two titles, the graphics in ''Star Wars'' are rendered entirely using polygons. The game was given a home port under the name ''Star Wars Arcade'', as an exclusive for the Sega 32X's launch in 1994. Sega followed up the release of ''Star Wars Arcade'' with '' Star Wars Trilogy Arcade'' and '' Star Wars: Racer Arcade'', as well as a ''Star Wars'' pinball game. Sega AM3 R&D
, known as from 2000 to 2004, is a defunct division of Sega, a Japanese video game company. Established by 1993, AM3 was managed by Hisao Oguchi and developed a number of arcade games for Sega. Series introduced by AM3 include ''Virtual On'', ''Sega Rally'', ''Crazy Taxi'', and ''Virtua Tennis''. AM3's main focus was on arcade games until the release of the Dreamcast. Additionally, developers Tetsuya Mizuguchi and Kenji Sasaki developed ''Sega Rally Championship'' with AM3 before departing to form AM Annex, which later split into Sega AM9 and Sega AM5. In 2000, Sega reorganized its studios into semi-autonomous companies, and AM3 became Hitmaker. The company expanded its development into Dreamcast games and ports, but saw a reduced amount of success in compared to previous years. Virtua Racing
''Virtua Racing'', or ''V.R.'' for short, is a Formula One racing video game developed by Sega AM2 and released for arcades in 1992. ''Virtua Racing'' was initially a proof-of-concept application for exercising a new 3D graphics platform under development, the "Model 1". The results were so encouraging that ''Virtua Racing'' was fully developed into a standalone arcade title. The original arcade game has three levels, designated into difficulties. Beginner is "Big Forest", intermediate is "Bay Bridge" and expert is "Acropolis". Each level has its own special feature, for example the amusement park in "Big Forest", or the "Bay Bridge" itself, or the tight hairpin of "Acropolis". The asteroid belt is a torus-shaped region in the Solar System, located roughly between the orbits of the planets Jupiter and Mars. It contains a great many solid, irregularly shaped bodies, of many sizes, but much smaller than planets, called asteroids or minor planets. The X-wing starfighter is a name applied to a family of fictional spacecraft manufactured by the Incom Corporation from the ''Star Wars'' franchise. Named for the distinctive shape made when its s-foils (wings) are in attack position, the X-wing was a class of starfighter used by the Rebel Alliance in their conflict with the Galactic Empire.
