Star Sisters
The Star Sisters were a female Dance music, Dance/Pop trio from The Netherlands that were very popular during the 1980s, most notably as the ladies who performed the chorus as members of Jaap Eggermont's studio act Stars on 45 and in a spinoff in which they performed a medley of The Andrews Sisters, Andrews Sisters songs that charted internationally in 1984. In 1984, they performed the ending theme for the Japanese film ''The Return of Godzilla''. Between 1983 and 1987 the group released six singles in Europe, including their best known hits "Are You Ready For My Love" in 1986, "He's The 1 (I Love)" in 1985, and a cover of American singer Regina’s “Baby Love (Regina song), Baby Love” in 1987. The group consisted of Sylvana van Veen (born 1950), Patricia Paay (born April 7, 1949) and Yvonne Keeley (born September 6, 1952). Paay and Keeley are actually sisters. Dance music is music composed specifically to facilitate or accompany dancing. It can be either a whole musical piece or part of a larger musical arrangement. Jaap Eggermont
Jacobus Johannes "Jaap" Eggermont (born 31 October 1946, The Hague) is a Dutch record producer, best known for his Stars on 45 project. Eggermont's first job in the musical profession was from 1965 until 1969 as the drummer of the band Golden Earrings. After leaving that band, which soon changed its name to Golden Earring, Eggermont became a record producer. He worked with such acts as Sandy Coast, Earth and Fire and Livin' Blues. Stars on 45 was a Dutch novelty pop act that was successful in Europe, the United States, and Australia in the early 1980s. The group later shortened its name to Stars On in the U.S., while in the UK and Ireland it was known as Starsound (aka Star Sound). The band, which consisted solely of studio session musicians under the direction of Jaap Eggermont, formerly of Golden Earring, recorded medley recordings made by recreating hit songs as faithfully as possible and joining them together with a common tempo and underlying drum track. The Andrews Sisters
The Andrews Sisters were an American close harmony singing group of the Swing music, swing and boogie-woogie eras. The group consisted of three sisters: contralto LaVerne Sophia Andrews (July 6, 1911 – May 8, 1967), soprano Maxene Anglyn Andrews (January 3, 1916 – October 21, 1995), and mezzo-soprano Patricia "Patty" Marie Andrews (February 16, 1918 – January 30, 2013). The sisters have sold an estimated 80 million records. Their 1941 hit "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" can be considered an early example of jump blues. The Return Of Godzilla
is a 1984 Japanese ''kaiju'' film directed by Koji Hashimoto, with special effects by Teruyoshi Nakano. The film features the fictional monster character Godzilla. Distributed by Toho and produced under their subsidiary Toho Pictures, it is the 16th film in the ''Godzilla'' franchise, the last film produced in the Shōwa period, and the first film in the Heisei series. In Japan, the film was followed by ''Godzilla vs. Biollante'' in 1989. ''The Return of Godzilla'' stars Ken Tanaka, Yasuko Sawaguchi, Yosuke Natsuki, and Keiju Kobayashi, with Kenpachiro Satsuma as Godzilla. Baby Love (Regina Song)
"Baby Love" is a song by American singer Regina. The single hit number one on the dance charts for two weeks in mid-1986. The single crossed over to the pop singles chart, where it peaked at number 10 on US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and at number 30 on the ''Billboard'' Soul Singles chart. "Baby Love" would be her only single to chart on both the Pop and Soul Singles charts, but several follow up singles charted on the dance chart. The song was written by Stephen Bray, Regina Richards & Mary Kessler. Bray had written several hits for Madonna, and "Baby Love" was actually intended for her to record. After she declined, Regina recorded the vocal herself in late 1985, though with Bray's production it sounded similar to Madonna's other recordings of the time and was sometimes mistaken for one. Patricia Anglaia Margareth Paaij (born 7 April 1949), best known as Patricia Paay, is a Dutch singer, radio host, glamour model and television personality. In the Netherlands, she is well known for her musical career, which spans over four decades. She is also regularly featured on Dutch television and in Dutch tabloid media.
