Star Awards 2000
Star Awards 2000 is the eighth installment of the annual Star Awards presented by the Television Corporation of Singapore to honour its artistes who work on Channel 8. The ceremony were hosted by Timothy Chao and Yvette Tsui. The award ceremony saw numerous changes in the award ceremony, with the Taiwan popularity votes being discontinued and were solely decided by the Malaysia viewers alone, new categories were introduced (such as the Best News/Current Affairs Presenter, now as two separate categories), and nominations for both Primetime and Daytime programs were merged. The ceremony also introduced a new crystal trophy made in Shanghai, designed with a shape of S and A on the angle of view (which represents the initials of ''Star Awards''), and the trophy has been used ever since the ceremony. Yvette Tsui
Yvette Tsui (; born 1 May 1963) is a Taiwanese former television host. She shared the Golden Bell Award for Best Variety Show Host with in 1990 and 1992. Personal life Yvette Tsui's family was from Yantai. She spent her youth in Nuannuan, Keelung. Tsui married Lee Chen-chia, an employee of China Television who was ten years older than she was, in 1991. Tsui moved from Neihu District to Tianmu, Shilin District, in 1997. Lin Meijiao
Lin Meijiao () is a Singaporean actress. Life and career Lin was educated at Ahmad Ibrahim Secondary School. Lin has acted in many drama serials and is a multi-nominee for the Best Supporting Actress category at the annual Star Awards. Jacelyn Tay
Jacelyn Tay Siew Cheng (; born 12 June 1975) is a Singaporean former actress, health coach and businesswoman . She was crowned the female champion of the local Star Search Singapore competition in 1995 and was a full-time Mediacorp artiste from 1995 to 2006. In 2004 and 2005 respectively, Tay published the books ''Feel Good Look Good with Jacelyn'' and ''Make-up for Asian Women''. Terence Cao
Terence Cao Guohui (born 6 October 1967) is a Singaporean television actor. Biography Cao studied at Anglo-Chinese School for both his primary and secondary education. Cao used to be a flight attendant and joined Singapore Broadcasting Corporation (later MediaCorp) in 1989 after completing the 9th drama training course. Apart from acting in several Channel 8 television drama series, Cao has also performed the theme songs for some of the series he starred in and has also acted in some television films. Li Nanxing
Jonathan Lee Nam Heng (born 7 November 1964), better known as Li Nanxing (), is a Singaporean actor and was named as 'Ah-Ge' (大哥, "big brother") of Caldecott Hill. Christopher Lee Meng Soon (; born 23 July 1971) is a Malaysian actor, host and singer based in Singapore. Tay Ping Hui (born 10 November 1970) is a Singaporean actor and director. In 2014, Tay made his directorial debut with the basketball film ''Meeting the Giant''.
