Stanley Anderson (golfer)
Stanley Anderson (October 23, 1939 – June 24, 2018) was an American character actor who played Drew Carey's father on ''The Drew Carey Show''. Early years Born in Billings, Montana, Anderson attended Garfield Elementary School, Lincoln Junior High School, and Billings Senior High School. He graduated from San Jose State University in the 1960s with a master's degree in theatre. He had two years of military service in Korea, where he served in a broadcasting post that he compared to the film ''Good Morning, Vietnam.'' Between returning from Korea and becoming an actor, he worked with display advertising in California. Career Anderson began his professional acting career in 1967. Billings is the largest city in the U.S. state of Montana, with a population of 117,116 as of the 2020 census. ''One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest'' (1963) is a play based on Ken Kesey's 1962 novel of the same name. Productions Dale Wasserman's stage adaptation, with music by Teiji Ito, made its Broadway preview on November 12, 1963, its premiere on November 13, and ran until January 25, 1964 for a total of one preview and 82 performances. Since then, the play has had two revivals: first off-Broadway in 1971, directed by Lee Sankowich with Danny DeVito as Martini, then as a Broadway production in 2001 with Gary Sinise as McMurphy.
