Standing On The Edge Of The Noise
''Standing on the Edge of the Noise'' is an hour long video of the rock band Oasis performing in their rehearsal space Black Island Studios in front of 100 fans prior to touring in 2008. It is also the name of a track on Oasis' successor band Beady Eye's debut album. The video was filmed by long time video collaborator Dick Carruthers. An edit for TV was shown on 4Music on 23 November 2008, and on Channel 4 on 29 November 2008. "Standing on the Edge of the Noise" was also a song written by Gem Archer, released when Beady Eye included it on their debut album, 2011's ''Different Gear, Still Speeding''. Dick Carruthers
Dick Carruthers (born 25 March 1966, Sussex, England) is an English music video and film director, based in London, England. He directed the Led Zeppelin ''Celebration Day'' film and The Rolling Stones ''Bridges To Babylon'' DVD (as live concert director) as well as many other live music videos. Carruthers' work on the Oasis '' Definitely Maybe'' DVD was nominated for two BAFTAs. Education Carruthers attended Winchester University (then known as King Alfred's College) where he completed a BA (Hons) degree in Drama Theatre and Television Studies. Career Before success in the music and film industries, Carruthers worked in corporate videos and in the conference and events industries. Lyla (song)
"Lyla" is a song by the English rock band Oasis. It was released on 16 May 2005 as the first single from their sixth studio album, ''Don't Believe the Truth'' (2005). "Lyla" was the band's first single following the departure of their long-time drummer Alan White, and replaced by Ringo Starr's son and the Who drummer Zak Starkey as an additional drummer of the band. The song was written by Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher, who has varyingly described the track as "specifically designed for pogoing", "annoyingly catchy", and the "poppiest thing since " Roll with It". Chris Sharrock
Chris Sharrock (born 30 May 1964) is an English drummer, hailing from Bebington, Cheshire (now Merseyside), England. He has been a member of the Icicle Works, the La's, the Wild Swans, World Party, the Lightning Seeds, Robbie Williams's live band, Oasis, Beady Eye and is currently in Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds. Career Sharrock's recording career began as a member of the Cherry Boys; he was the drummer on the band's first single, "Man to Man", released in January 1981. Sharrock then left the Cherry Boys for the Icicle Works, with whom he stayed until 1988, playing on the band's first four albums. The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. Andy Bell (Welsh Musician)
Andrew Piran Bell (born 11 August 1970) is a Welsh singer, songwriter, musician, record producer, and DJ. He is one of two vocalists and guitarists of the English rock band Ride, and was formerly the bassist of Oasis from 1999 until their breakup in 2009. Bell was also a member of Hurricane #1 as well as Liam Gallagher's post-Oasis project Beady Eye until their breakup in 2014. With Ride, Bell helped pioneer shoegaze, an alternative rock subgenre which reached its peak popularity in the early 1990s. Bell also wrote one song or more on each of Oasis' final three albums. Electric Guitar
An electric guitar is a guitar that requires external amplification in order to be heard at typical performance volumes, unlike a standard acoustic guitar (however combinations of the two - a semi-acoustic guitar and an electric acoustic guitar exist). "I Am the Walrus" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles from their 1967 television film ''Magical Mystery Tour''. "Champagne Supernova" is a song by English rock band Oasis, written by Noel Gallagher. It is the closing track on the band's second studio album, '' (What's the Story) Morning Glory?'' (1995), and was released as the sixth and final single from the album in Australia, France, and New Zealand on 13 May 1996.
