''Stand for Love'' is the twenty-first studio album by American singer Peabo Bryson. It was released on August 3, 2018, by Perspective Records, with distribution overseen by Caroline, the independent services wing of Capitol Records, his former label. Bryson's first album in a decade, in marked his debut with Perspective, the label by production duo Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis with whom he worked on the entire album. ''Stand for Love'' was preceded by its lead single, "Love Like Yours and Mine" which reached number three on the US Adult R&B Songs chart. Critical reception J. Matthew Cobb from ''HiFi Magazine'' found that on ''Stand for Love'' "Bryson returns to the table and is completely updated on the contemporary R&B age we’re in, not sounding dated or ferociously young. Peabo Bryson
Robert Peapo "Peabo" Bryson (born April 13, 1951) is an American singer and songwriter. He is known for singing soul ballads (often as a duet with female singers) including the 1983 hit "Tonight, I Celebrate My Love" with Roberta Flack. Bryson has contributed to two Disney animated feature soundtracks. Bryson is a winner of two Grammy Awards. Early years and career Born Robert Peapo Bryson in Greenville, South Carolina, Peabo Bryson spent much of his childhood on his grandfather's farm in Mauldin, South Carolina. His love for music stemmed from his mother, who often took the family to concerts of well-known African-American artists at the time. Șerban Ghenea (born October 13, 1969) is a Grammy award-winning Romanian-Canadian audio engineer and mixer. Early life and education Ghenea was born in Bucharest, Romania in 1969. In 1976 he moved to Montreal with his family. He later attended John Abbott College, Concordia University, then McGill University. Career Ghenea's career began through a chance meeting with Teddy Riley in 1993 while visiting his girlfriend (now wife), that lead to Riley hiring him as an in-house mixing and recording engineer. Little Anthony And The Imperials
Little Anthony and the Imperials is an American rhythm and blues/soul vocal group from New York City founded by Clarence Collins in the 1950s and named in part for its lead singer, Jerome Anthony "Little Anthony" Gourdine, who was noted for his high-pitched voice. In addition to Collins and Gourdine, the original Imperials included Ernest Wright, Glouster "Nate" Rogers, and Tracey Lord, the last two of whom were subsequently replaced by Sammy Strain. The group was one of the very few doo-wop groups to enjoy sustained success on the R&B and pop charts throughout the 1960s. Michael William Masser (March 24, 1941 – July 9, 2015) was an American songwriter, composer and producer of popular music. Early life Born to a Jewish family in Chicago to Ester Huff and William Masser, he attended the University of Illinois College of Law. He became a stockbroker, but left to pursue his interest in music. Career Masser's first major composition hit, co-written with Ron Miller, was "Touch Me in the Morning", recorded by Diana Ross.
