''Stand Apart'' is an acoustic and third overall EP by Australian alternative rock band Dead Letter Circus. It was exclusively released through iTunes on 29 August 2014 preceding four sold-out acoustic shows. Dead Letter Circus are an Australian alternative rock band from Brisbane, Queensland. Their 2010 debut album ''This Is the Warning'' debuted at No. 2 on the Australian album charts and spawned a number of singles that were played heavily on radio, and was later certified Gold and voted by listeners into Triple J's ''Hottest 100 Albums of All Time'', at number 86. The band's third studio album, Aesthesis, was released on 14 August 2015. UNFD (pronounced as an initialism ˈjuːˈenˈefˈdiː/ is an independent record label based in Melbourne, Australia. The Catalyst Fire
''The Catalyst Fire'' is the second studio album by Australian progressive rock band Dead Letter Circus. It featured new band members Tom Skerlj and Clint Vincent after founding member and guitarist Rob Maric left the band at the end of 2012. History In 2011, Tom Skerlj was added to the band as a second guitarist and keyboardist and the band began working on writing new material, hinting that they would follow a similar process to the preceding album in that completion of the songwriting would occur while the band was recording the album; "We don't ever write whole songs before we go into the studio. We generally take the seeds of songs," Benzie explained in mid-2011. The band continued to tour in 2011 and played a limited number of shows in 2012, with guitarist Rob Maric spending time away from the band to deal with personal issues for the majority of the year. Triple J (stylised in all lowercase) is a government-funded, national Australian Radio in Australia, radio station intended to appeal to listeners of alternative music, which began broadcasting in January 1975. The station also places a greater emphasis on broadcasting music of Australia, Australian content compared to commercial stations. Triple J is a division of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Like A Version
''Like a Version'' is a weekly segment on Australian youth radio station Triple J. It involves Australian and international artists playing two songs live in the Triple J studio, one of their own songs (an "original") and then a cover version, hence the name of the segment. The title is wordplay on the Madonna song " Like a Virgin". It was created by Mel Bampton as part of the ''Mel in the Morning'' program. The segment was later moved to Robbie Buck's Drive program, and then to the Breakfast Show. Due to the intimate nature of the studio, the performance is often acoustic or otherwise stripped-back, however some bands have stretched this concept. The segment has grown in popularity over the years, leading to the release of compilation CDs featuring the best covers. Some particularly well-received covers have also made it into the Triple J Hottest 100. Rage Against the Machine (often abbreviated as RATM or shortened to simply Rage) is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California. "Killing in the Name" is a protest song by American rock band Rage Against the Machine, and appears on their 1992 self-titled debut album. It was released as the lead single from the album in November 1992. It features heavy drop-D guitar riffs, and lyrics inspired by the police brutality suffered by Rodney King and the subsequent 1992 Los Angeles riots. "Killing in the Name" is Rage Against the Machine's signature song. In 1993, it reached number 25 on the UK Singles Chart. In 2009, following a campaign protesting the British talent show ''The X Factor'', "Killing in the Name" reached the UK Christmas number one. Writing Tom Morello wrote the guitar riffs while teaching a student drop D tuning; he briefly paused the lesson to record the riff. The band worked on the song the next day.
