Stan Kelly
Stan Kelly is an American radio news anchor and served as the public address announcer for the San Antonio Spurs of the National Basketball Association from 1990 through 2008. During his time with the Spurs, they won four NBA championships, and became a model NBA franchise. On October 10, 2008Kelly was replacedas the Spurs public address announcer by Kevin "Big Kev" Brock. He currently works co host of "San Antonio's First News" on the news/talk radio station WOAI (AM) in San Antonio. Texas Longhorns
The Texas Longhorns are the athletic teams representing the University of Texas at Austin. The teams are sometimes referred to as the Horns and take their name from Longhorn cattle that were an important part of the development of Texas, and are now the official "large animal" of the U.S. state of Texas. The San Antonio Missions are a Minor League Baseball team of the Texas League and the Double-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres. They are located in San Antonio, Texas, and are named for the Spanish missions around which the city was founded. The Missions play their home games at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium, which opened in 1994 and seats over 6,200 people with a total capacity of over 9,000. WOAI (1200 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in San Antonio, Texas, which airs a news/talk format. It is owned and operated by locally based iHeartMedia, Inc., and is that company's flagship station. Studios are located in the Stone Oak neighborhood in Far North San Antonio. Its non-directional antenna transmitter site is off Santa Clara Road in Zuehl, Texas. WOAI promotion refers to the station as the "50,000 Watt Blowtorch" of South Texas. It is a Class A clear-channel station, broadcasting fulltime at the U.S. maximum power of 50,000 watts. In the daytime, WOAI covers most of Central and South Texas, providing at least secondary coverage as far north as the Waco suburbs and as far south as Corpus Christi. Ward Sutton
Ward Sutton is an American illustrator, cartoonist and writer born in Minneapolis and based in Fort Collins, Colorado. His comic strip, "Sutton Impact" (formerly "Schlock 'n' Roll"), was published in ''The Village Voice'' from 1995 to 2007. In 2018, Sutton won the Herblock Prize for his work.
