Stan Evans
Stanley George Evans (born 14 July 1930) is a former South Australian Liberal and Country League, LCL and Liberal Party of Australia (South Australian Division), Liberal politician, representing Electoral district of Onkaparinga, Onkaparinga from 1968 to 1970, Electoral district of Fisher, Fisher from 1970 to 1985 and Electoral district of Davenport, Davenport from 1985 to 1993. Parliament A 1983 electoral redistribution significantly altered Fisher, cutting Evans' majority from a safe 9.2 percent to a marginal 2.1 percent. Most of the strongly Liberal areas of the old Fisher were transferred to the safe Liberal seat of Electoral district of Davenport, Davenport, prompting Evans to challenge fellow Liberal Dean Brown for preselection in Davenport. Graham McDonald Gunn, Order of Australia, AM (born 5 September 1942), was an Australian politician who was a member of the South Australian House of Assembly. A member of the Liberal Party of Australia (South Australian Division), Liberal Party, he represented the electorate of Electoral district of Eyre (South Australia), Eyre from 1970 to 1997, and the electorate of electoral district of Stuart, Stuart from 1997 to 2010. Charles Murray Hill AM (2 July 1923 – 24 March 2003), generally known as Murray Hill, was a real estate agent and politician in the State of South Australia. Biography Hill was born in Glenelg, South Australia, a son of Theodore Charles Hill and his wife Heloise Margery Hill (née Winterbottom); later at Millswood Estate. He enlisted in the Royal Australian Navy in 1941 and served as a seaman during World War II. In 1946 he established Murray Hill & Co., real estate agents, with offices in Grenfell Street. In 1972 after the alleged murder of University of Adelaide law lecturer Dr George Duncan at a known gay beat at the hands of police officers, and the significant public outrage that followed, Hill proceeded to introduce a private member's bill, with implicit support from the Labor Party, on 26 July 1972 to amend the Criminal Law Consolidation Act that criminalised homosexuality, thus being the first serious attempt to decriminalise homosexuality in Australia. Iain Frederick Evans (born 18 April 1959) is a former Australian politician. He was leader of the South Australian Division of the Liberal Party of Australia from 2006 to 2007. Early life Evans attended Heathfield Primary and subsequently Heathfield High School.
