Staffan Tunis
Staffan Tunis (born December 5, 1982) in Vörå is a Finnish ski-orienteering competitor. He received a silver medal in the ''middle distance'' and a bronze medal in the ''sprint'' at the 2007 World Ski Orienteering Championships. He finished 5th with the Finnish relay team ( Jukka Lanki, Matti Keskinarkaus and Tunis) at the 2007 world championships. Tunis finished third in the overall World Cup in Ski Orienteering in 2006. Ski Orienteering
Ski orienteering (SkiO) is a cross-country skiing endurance winter racing sport and one of the four orienteering disciplines recognized by the IOF. A successful ski orienteer combines high physical endurance, strength and excellent technical skiing skills with the ability to navigate and make the best route choices while skiing at a high speed. Standard orienteering maps are commonly used, but since 2019, a separate mapping standard ISSkiOM has been produced which recommends a subset of the symbols used in other disciplines. Ski-orienteering maps uses green symbols to indicate trails and tracks and different symbols to indicate their navigability in snow; other symbols indicate whether any roads are snow-covered or clear. Jukka Lanki (born 11 June 1971) is a Finnish ski-orienteering competitor who has represented Finland internationally from 1996. He has achieved silver medals at the world championships, both individually and in the relay. In the World Cup his best overall result is finishing second in 2001, as well as several victories in individual races. World championships Lanki received a silver medal in the ''long course'' at the 2000 World Ski Orienteering Championships in Krasnoyarsk, and a bronze medal in Levi in 2005. He received silver or bronze medals with the Finnish relay team in 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2005, and finished 5th in the relay in 2007. The World Ski Orienteering Championships (Ski-WOC) is the official event to award the titles of World Champions in ski orienteering. The World Championships is organized every odd year.
