Stadio Carlo Speroni is a multi-use stadium in Busto Arsizio, Italy. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of Pro Patria. Stadio Speroni 2
Stadio (literally, ''Stadium'') is an Italian pop rock band formed in 1977. The members are Giovanni Pezzoli (drums), Roberto Drovandi (bass guitar), Andrea Fornili (guitar), and Gaetano Curreri (vocals and keyboard). Formation and early recordings The group had a long-standing arrangement as an accompanying band to Lucio Dalla, a Bologna-born singer. Stadio had its first notable public appearance in the mid-1970s, when the group appeared on Lucio Dalla's 1975 collaborative album with Roberto Roversi, '' Anidride Solforosa'' (Italian for "sulfur dioxide"). The members of Stadio on this album were Giovanni Pezzoli playing the drums, Marco Nanni playing the bass and Fabio Liberators playing the keyboard. The same musicians were featured on Dalla's 1977 album ''Com'è profondo il mare'' (How deep is the sea?). Busto Arsizio (; lmo, label= Bustocco, Büsti Grandi) is an Italian city and ''comune'' in the south-easternmost part of the Province of Varese, in the region of Lombardy, in Northern Italy, north of Milan. Aurora Pro Patria 1919, commonly referred to as Pro Patria, is an Italian football club based in Busto Arsizio, Lombardy. It currently plays in Serie C. In Latin, Pro Patria translates to "For the Fatherland". History Pro Patria et Libertate The club was founded in 1919. The club has played in Serie A fourteen times mostly during the first half of the 20th century, the last time being in 1955–56. Carlo Speroni
Carlo Speroni (13 July 1895 – 12 October 1969) was an Italian long-distance runner. Biography Speroni began competing at the age of 15 and took part in the 1912, 1920 and 1924 Summer Olympics. Nationally he won 12 titles: in the 5000 m (1920, 1921), 10,000 m (1914, 1920, 1921, 1924, 1925), half marathon (1912–1914) and cross country running (1913, 1915). In 1913 he set the Italian record over six miles that stood for 17 years. In 1936 he became a masseur for the Pro Patria Calcio club, where he worked for 30 years. In 1971 the stadium Stadio Carlo Speroni was named after him.
