St Patrick's GAA (Limerick)
St Patrick's GAA ( Irish: ''CLG Naomh Pádraig'') is a Gaelic Athletic Association located in the Rhebogue area of Limerick City, Ireland. The club fields teams in both hurling and Gaelic football. History Located in the Rhebogue area on the banks of the River Shannon, St Patrick's GAA Club is one of the oldest clubs in Limerick, having been founded in 1886. It remains the oldest-surviving city club. The club enjoyed Gaelic football success in its early years, winning back-to-back Limerick SFC titles at the expense of Commercials in 1890 and 1891. Half a century passed before the club enjoyed what could arguably be described as its most successful period. Further Limerick SFC titles were won in 1943, 1944 and 1954, while St Patrick's also claimed consecutive Limerick SHC titles in 1949 and 1950. 1958 All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship
The 1958 All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship was the 28th staging of the All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1928. The championship began on 6 April 1958 and ended on 7 September 1958. Tipperary entered the championship as the defending champions in search of a fourth successive title, however, they were beaten by Limerick in the Munster quarter-final. On 7 September 1958 Limerick won the championship following a 5-8 to 3-10 defeat of Galway in the All-Ireland final. This was their second All-Ireland title and their first in 15 championship seasons. John McDonogh (hurler)
John McDonogh (1941 - 12 September 2012) was an Irish hurler who played as full-back for the Limerick senior team. Born in Ballysimon, Limerick, McDonogh first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of sixteen when he first linked up with the Limerick minor team. He joined the senior panel during the 1963 championship. McDonogh was a regular member of the team over the next few years, however, he ended his career without any major success. At club level McDonogh hurling and Gaelic football with St. Patrick's. McDonogh's son, Stephen, also played with Limerick. Throughout his career McDonogh made 9 championship appearances. His retirement came following the conclusion of the 1970 championship. The 2022 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 135th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county hurling tournament, since its establishment in 1887. The provincial fixtures were released on 27 November 2021. The championship began on 16 April 2022 and ended on 17 July 2022. Limerick entered the championship as defending champions having won the previous two championships. Westmeath, having won the 2021 Joe McDonagh Cup, returned to the Leinster Championship for the first time since the 2017 competition. The All-Ireland final was played on 17 July 2022 at Croke Park in Dublin, between Limerick and Kilkenny. The 2020 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 133rd staging of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county hurling tournament, since its establishment in 1887. The 2018 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 131st staging of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1887. It is the first tier of senior inter-county championship hurling. The championship began on 12 May 2018 and ended on 19 August 2018. The draw for the championship round-robin fixtures was held off camera on 19 October 2017 and announced on the championship draw broadcast on RTÉ2. Gearóid Hegarty
Gearóid M. Hegarty (born 10 August 1994) is an Irish hurler and Gaelic footballer who plays as a right wing-forward for club side St Patrick's and at inter-county level with the Limerick senior hurling team. He is a former member of the Limerick senior football team. Early life Hegarty was born in Limerick. His father, Ger Hegarty, was an All-Ireland runner-up with the Limerick senior hurling team in 1994. Playing career College Hegarty first came to prominence as a hurler with Castletroy College. On 19 October 2011, he was a forward on the first Castletroy College team to play in the Harty Cup. Patrick J. Cunneen (born 1936) is an Irish retired hurling, hurler who played at club level with St. Patrick's GAA (Limerick), St. Patrick's and at inter-county level with Limerick GAA, Limerick.
