St Lite Kinen
The St Lite Kinen is a Japanese Grade 2 flat horse race in Japan for three-year-old Thoroughbred colts and fillies run over a distance of 2,200 metres at the Nakayama Racecourse, Funabashi, Chiba. The race is run in September and serves as the main trial race for the Kikuka Sho. It was first run in 1947 and was named in honour of the Japanese Triple Crown St Lite. Among the winners of the race have been Symboli Rudolf, Legacy World and Nakayama Festa. The race was run at Tokyo Racecourse from 1947 until 1956 and in 1966, 1968, 1974, and 1976–1979. The 2014 running took place at Niigata Racecourse. Legacy World
Legacy World (Japanese レガシーワールド, 23 April 1989 - 18 August 2021) was a Japanese Thoroughbred racehorse best known for winning the 1993 Japan Cup. He failed to win in five starts as a juvenile and was gelded before the start of his second season. In 1992 he won six races including the Grade II St Lite Kinen, finished fourth in the Japan Cup and ran second in the Arima Kinen. In the following year he was lightly raced and made only two appearances before defeating a top-class international field in the Japan Cup at Tokyo Racecourse. His later career was blighted by injury and he failed to win in fourteen subsequent races before being retired in 1996. Background Legacy World was a bay gelding with no white markings bred in Japan by the Heihata Farm. His sire Mogami raced in France where he won the valuable Prix des Foals at Deauville Racecourse in 1978 before retiring to become a breeding stallion in Japan. Dee Majesty ( ja, ディーマジェスティ, link=no, foaled 24 March 2013) is a Japanese Thoroughbred racehorse and sire (horse), sire. As a two-year-old in 2015 he showed some promise by finishing second on his first two starts and then winning a minor race before his season was ended by a leg infection. In 2016 he was one of the best colts of his generation in Japan, winning the Kyodo Tsushin Hai, Satsuki Sho and St Lite Kinen as well as finishing third in the Tokyo Yushun and fourth in the Kikuka Sho. He was retired from racing after two disappointing efforts in the spring of 2017. Kitasan Black
is a Japanese Thoroughbred racehorse and prospective sire. In a three-year track career he won twelve of his twenty races including seven Grade 1 events, won four JRA Awards and set the record for prize money won in Japan. He was a stayer who has produced most of his best performances over distances of 2400 metres or further. Unraced as a juvenile in 2014 he proved himself one of the best colts of his generation in Japan in the following year with wins in the Spring Stakes, St Lite Kinen and Kikuka Sho as well as third-place finishes in the Satsuki Sho and the Arima Kinen. Fenomeno (horse)
Fenomeno ( ja, フェノーメノ, link=no, foaled 20 April 2009) is a Japanese Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. After winning one minor race as a two-year-old he emerged as a top-class performer in the following year, taking the Aoba Sho and St Lite Kinen and finishing a close second in both the Tokyo Yushun and the autumn edition of the Tenno Sho. In his third campaign he won the Nikkei Sho and the spring edition of the Tenno Sho before his season was ended by injury.
