St Helier Hospital
St Helier Hospital (full title: ''St Helier Hospital and Queen Mary's Hospital for Children'') in the London Borough of Sutton is run by St George's, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals and Health Group along with Epsom Hospital. It is located next to the large St Helier council estate and close to the major intersection known as Rosehill. The hospital offers a full range of hospital services including a 24-hour accident and emergency department. The site is also home to the South West Renal and Transplantation Service and the Queen Mary's Hospital for Children, a dedicated children's hospital. Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is an NHS trust covering the London Borough of Sutton and north Surrey. It runs two main hospitals: Epsom Hospital and St Helier Hospital. It also runs a chronic fatigue and pain clinic at Sutton Hospital. The Trust was formed in 1999, bringing together four hospitals: Epsom, St Helier, Sutton and the former Queen Mary's Hospital for Children, Carshalton. Sutton Hospital The former cottage hospital at Sutton, now known as the Malvern Centre, now houses only a chronic fatigue service, a centre of pain education, phlebotomy and a staff nursery. Eye services moved from there to the two other hospitals in April 2015. St Helier, London
St Helier () is a residential cottage estate in the London boroughs of Merton and Sutton. The portion of the estate north of Green Lane and Bishopsford Road is in Merton, the remainder is in Sutton. History The site of the St Helier estate has been connected to long-term charity since the early 17th century. Henry Smith (d. 1627) was a wealthy citizen and salter of London who gave much money to parishes in London and Surrey during his lifetime and in his will. He is buried in Wandsworth parish church and is supposed to have been born in Wandsworth. In 1617 he gave £500 towards the purchase of land in Carshalton, the rent of which was to support the poor of Wandsworth. Another £100 bequest came from Mrs. Elizabeth Blackwell. In 1814 the lands were described as being just over 116 acres and having a building, barn and outhouses. Queen Mary's Hospital, Carshalton
Queen Mary's Hospital was a children's hospital in Carshalton, London, England. History The hospital was built as the Southern Hospital in 1908. However, as local requirements changed, it was converted into a children's hospital and opened as the Children's Infirmary in 1909. After a visit by Queen Mary it became Queen Mary's Hospital for Children in 1915. Six new blocks were completed in 1930.
